Is it worth optimizing for Bing? I read it accounts for 15% of SE traffic but what sort of people are these? What sort of niches do people pick up traffic for from Bing?

I guess the only thing you can tell about these people is that they are mostly American. I didn't find any better statistics on Bing.

I would recommend to also make the website Bing and Yahoo friendly even though it is 12% and 16% of search engines' market share - but still its a traffic distributes that brings potential buyers.

Since Bing and Yahoo are the same now, you can use Bing Webmaster Tools (just Google it:))

If you add your sitemaps to Bing Webmaster Tools section, that'll really help you get indexed quickly. I've been pretty surprised how much traffic I'm getting from Bing, and they've been aggressively marketing themselves so it's worth that little bit of effort.

It is also known that users who come from Bing have a lot better conversion rate.

    Why not?

See, optimization practice for all search engines are almost same... You don't have to put in extra effort. So why not to consider Bing for pulling traffic.

why not try it. If you have a website on .сom, the additional traffic cann't hurt for you. I think about this question too

I think that all the search engines have the same strategy. They work in somewhat similar manner.

Bing also works in the same way. But the difference is that, in bing the top search results are also based on the type of submissions done to it( Search Engine Submissions).

this differnce I have expierenced, so I am sharing.

Rest you can check out for yourself.

    Regards
    Jack
