At wit's end with existing ranks 1, 3, 4, 5 & 6 on page 1 of Bing SERPs for a FirstMiddleLastName .com EMD where the First Middle and Last Names are not of a celebrity, so there is little competition. It's like trying to get a ranking for Juan Hercules Lafayette (not the client's actual name) with the domain JuanHerculesLafayette .com. The Bing SERPS have ranged from 3 to 5 domains of the top 8 listed on Bing's first page for a couple of months, with the #1 & #3 positions since early January.

I already have 3 of the top 10 SERPs on Google. Nearly half of the top 70 images on Google come from my domain(s) and have done so for over a couple of months. Yet, puzzlingly, not one image is shown on Bing. The images are actually authoritative and unique images of the person. Bing IS indexing the site... just not the images.

This is not a monetizing puzzle. I know that there is much less value to Bing than Google. It's that a client is a non-technical septuagenarian (fancy word for a person between the ages of 70-79) and he has a Dell that's pre-configured with MSIE and Bing yet doesn't see his images on Bing or Yahoo when he searches for himself.

    • Yes there are alt tags.
    • Yes there are title tags.
    • Yes there are a mix of EM & non-EM on-page anchor links.
    • Yes, the sitemap has been submitted with Bing Webmaster Tools. I created a separate image sitemap and submitted that, too.
    • Yes there are dozens of EM filenames like firstmiddlelastname.png, firstmiddlelastname-baby-photo1.png, firstmiddlelastname-baby-photo2.png, firstmiddlelastname-surfing.png, firstlastname-collegegraduation.png, firstmiddlelastname-meeting-celebrityname.png, etc..

Google loves my images and indexes dozens of them. Bing completely ignores them. Not even one image.

EMDs used to be a slam-dunk cinch on Bing.

Admittedly, very few off page links, but not many opportunities for natural links since "Mr. FirstMiddleLastName" isn't very significant to people.

    Using WordPress.

Is this something I need to or should post in the Marketplace (SEO-Other) or the Hire a Freelancer forums?

So here are screen caps, months later, of the images from Google and Bing, with firstname middlename lastname (FN, MN, LN) and just FN LN searches. Red is a mugshot and I want to push them down. Green is one of my images. Yellow is a FN LN match -- which is good for my client since he has two semi-famous namesakes who share all but his middle name. Orange is a LN match -- which is good because my client has the same LN as this far more famous person. Black are neutral -- also good because it displaces viewing my client

I'm kicking butt on Google images but Bing has only indexed one image from one FN MN LN EMD and another from a FN LN EMD. Google loves images from all my domains. Among the techniques which the semi-celebs won't mind is my doing SEO on their PR, for domains I don't even manage -- this generates a lot of good Yellow. Whatever shoves my client lower is good.

    So the screencaps below are
    1) bhw-fml-google.jpg Google Images FN MN LN - lots of lovely green and yellow and some red.
    2) bhw-fl-google.jpg Google Images FN LN - some green, much yellow, some red, little orange.
    3) bhw-fml-bing.jpg Bing Images FN MN LN - tons of red, 2 green, some yellow, little orange.
    4) bhw-fl-bing.jpg Bing Images FN LN - tons of red, 2 green, some yellow, little orange.

Usually Google is MUCH harder to get listed and Bing is known to bias on EMDs. Not happening and I don't know why. Bing has indexed the FN MN LN and FN LN EMDs at #1 and #2 as well as other domains totalling 5 of the first page of Bing results. So Bing likes the domains and content but ISN'T INDEXING THE IMAGES.

Insights from the BHW Jedi Knights?

After posting this 4 months ago, I was hoping that Bing was just slow.

I have more techniques and domains for my client to generate more yellow, but I've got dozens of positive images of the client that are appearing in green on Google. If I could get that on Bing, it would be a good thing.

Same thing ! I just checked bing for my personal blog (myname.com) and 0 images were indexed, while google got all of em. I suggest trying to go to microsoft forums or bing itself (If they have a support forums like google does) and ask there.
