Hi guys. Basically I'm unknown here and have very little posts. I understand if nobody cares about reading my journey thread but I made it for three reasons:
    • To keep myself accountable
    • Nobody I know is into IM, so I can't talk with them about it
    • I want to keep a log so I can read back about things I learned and remember things I did

    About myself
I'm a 20 year old college student living in the Netherlands. I absolutely despise going to school and the thing that I hate most is wage slaves. My main motivation and goal is to earn large amounts of money passively so I can actually enjoy my life instead of working for 50+ years. I always thought that I will start a business when I grow up, now is the time. I have plenty on time to work on this as I only need to study a few hours for my exams, I rarely actually go to my college. Obviously I have a lot of expenditures for college such as rent, food, books, gym and it would be awesome if I can build good income with my projects.

I'm a huge NOOB when it comes to IM, but I already earn around 150$ a month with a site I made. It is pretty much pure luck that I earn this amount. I didn't even know what SEO was etc when I made it.
I've been reading up on threads here for a week or so, great stuff here. I will do DAILY updates if that's allowed, if not weekly or whenever I can.

So my first real attempt at earning big money with amazon, I will be using a very simple website I made using hekke's quick niche site guide with minimal styling etc. If I get some earnings I will buy a simple logo and maybe some styling etc. Also, right now I use NO tools or anything like semrush because I don't have the money yet.

    Day 0(yesterday):
Did extensive keyword research using Google Keyword Planner and keywordtool.io. I picked my niche, it's an object that I know a decent amount about. I checked the keyword competition using DA, backlinks, PA and the competition isnt too fierce. Exact keyword search with brackets gives me only around 1k results so it's not bad. I hope this keyword is good. It's something like best toaster 2015.

Then I bought the domain for it, it's a partial match to the keyword im targetting, actually I could have got an exact matching domain but because I'm a NOOB I got the items name + random 'expert' word.
I already have a VPS so I quickly set up the DNS settings, installed wordpress and followed hekkes guide. At this point I got tired because I was researching the keyword for many hours and I was reading up on many ONPAGE SEO guides, if there are any good recommendations let me know.

About ONPAGE SEO I found out that

    • Everything on the page affects keyword density, it's not just about article density but the whole page, so a recent posts widget could ruin your keyword density
    • Around 0.5-1.1 keyword density is optimal depending on keyword length
    • Keyword stuffing doesn't work
    • Onpage SEO + backlinks are most important
    • You need to use LSE's(terms similar to keyword but not matching) in your article as much as possible
    • You can have multiple keywords in one article, try to use as many related ones as possible
    • Alt tags for images should genuinely describe image instead of keyword
    • Using media and images helps with SEO
    • Long articles 700+ words are better for SEO

I will post my daily progress at the end of each day, so I will get back to work after writing this thread then write the recap of what I did and learned in this thread.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1

Thanks to the guy from here from NL that sent me a PM! Sadly I cannot reply because I don't have enough posts, but really appreciate it.

Thanks, as for setting things up like a pro, it's not hard with all the informative threads and posts here. I can easily state the steps I need to take but as for actually doing them properly I'm a huge noob.

Of course, I don't really use skype much but I will add you later. I'm still finishing up my work for today, will post progress as soon as im done!

Cool thread I will definitely be following. I'm in the same boat as you except a couple years older. The idea of working in a cubicle for the next 40 years actually gives me anxiety.

Are you planning on writing your own content?

How big are you planning on your website being?

I recently started my third amazon affiliate that's looking promising so far. While the first two weren't financial successes, I believe the knowledge gained from both far outweighed the meager cost of setting them up.

Anyways, good luck and I hope to see those daily updates.

Yeah for my first site I'll be writing it by myself since I don't have any funds and honestly I wouldn't even know how to instruct a writer for proper SEO since I will be looking everything up etc.

Not big, the keyword im targetting only has around 1k search volume monthly so its just a quick profit website hopefully but if I can expand it I definitely will.

Have any insight for why your first two werent successful? Could help me.

Also, I tried to post my daily progress but the moderation system here won't let me. Keeps saying I triggered the system but I didn't write any urls or anything against the rules?

Day 1(today): I started writing articles about the niche. First one I'm doing is the front page article containing the main keyword and all the reviews. This is going to be the main landing page for my site so it has to be good. I spent HOURS messing around with my website because I'm a noob, how to insert nice looking tables(use tablepress) how to insert star ratings(search for universal star ratings plugin) etc. Also edited an image for the side bar with 'click here for pricing of best *product*'

I managed to write around 1200 words for my front page so far, only thing I need to finish up are a few short reviews for it, then I want to check all the keywords, read all on page SEO guides to make sure it's 100% optimized. Writing the article was a lot more work than I expected as I wanted it to be very high quality with actually useful information.
One thing I didn't discuss about me is that I like to do everything in steps, and every step has to be 100% finished and perfect before I can continue to the next

These are the steps I'll be following in the coming days for my amazon micro niche site:

1)Write front page article and optimize SEO, use all tips I found about amazon in it(cant post links yet sorry)
2)Write all product reviews and long tail articles(reviews for all most popular of my products, and easy long tail articles)
3)Put the url of my site on my other sites(in the footer, to gain links, not sure if this will work but can't hurt to try).
4)Build backlinks by manually commenting on authority sites(around 20)
5)Hopefully by this time I will have a few sales, I will use that money to buy logo design & favicon on fiverr and improve site graphics
6)Continue with posting articles and building links
    7)Hopefully good profits

Another thing I'm implementing for MAXIMAL EFFICIENCY is waking up at 7 am every day. I'm used to a bad sleep schedule of waking up at 10-11 am and basically wasting half the day before I got out of bed, took a shower and ate breakfast. I want to change that and wake up early, quickly shower and eat and start working on my project. Money is power and see you tomorrow.

I'm already enjoying your journey and I wish you a ton of success! Geluk! I feel you on the sleeping in everyday, it makes me waste the whole day. I realized that I'll need to rise early to have a productive day in IM.

I am unable to post my update for day two as I tried many times to post a proper reply to the thread but I KEEP getting this

This is extremely lame and I had it like 5 times yesterday too when I tried to post a perfectly fine reply.
Summary of what I did since I just CANT get my real reply approved by this system:

-Published front page article, wrote two additional articles targetting long tail keywords related to main keyword
-Added site to google webmaster tools, not sure if it actually helps, submitted sitemap
-Going to try to publish 2 articles daily, starting to build backlinks manually
-Hoping I will get some sales or atleast some clicks when i wake up tomorrow
-Already ranked on first page for keyword + 2016
    -Main keyword on page 8
-Amazon earnings as of day 2 = 0
-Will buy logo on fiverr and outsource writing when i get sales

If I keep getting these warnings I might have to stop my log early as it's getting very annoying and wasting my time

Best of luck to you, buddy. I feel you on the moderation trigger. I wrote a giant journey post the other day and got the same message, so I just gave up. I'm in the same boat as you. Started my journey last November. 16 sales so far, with an 8% conversion...I'm scaling it up now.
