big news is hitting the whole of the UK by storm... a couple from Shropshire ("the hidden secret" as it is called) are giving away their house in a prize competition draw.
Its being followed by the local newspapers at the moment and they are hoping to be picked up by the bigger papers very soon. The reason why im telling you all of this is because their are only 33,333 tickets that can be sold meaning that after that they are all GONE... I actually brought my ticket yesterday for it and hope i win.
Each ticket costs £15 (approx $30) and if you are the lucky winner then you win the £500,000 house. However if the 33,333 mark is not met (which personally i highly doubt) then they are giving away 70% of the total cash raised instead.

The link to the front page news story is here

The main site can be found here

good luck to any of you who buy a ticket :)

Interesting lol. I might get a ticket just for the fun of it. A gambling person would buy 50% of the tickets for £250k and then he has a 1 in 2 chance of doubling his money.

I am not a gambling man so I wont be doing that lol.

Also how many tickets are sold now?

dont know the owner hasnt said yet but its less than 2 weeks old as far as im aware so not really that long till it ends (november 30th i think the date was)

i know im doing my part to help sell some tickets so either my money is bigger or i get the house (because of course im gonna win :p loool)

wish i had the money to buy half of them loool would be an ace deal if you won

so you don´t think that all will be sold, and by knowing that why did you buy one ticket? except from all the hussle you will loose 30%.

33 333*15=499 995 then take away all the gambling taxes etc... cant see why they do this.

'...Sorry, I'm British but if you gave me a house to live in anywhere in the U.K. and paid all my expenses, I wouldn't go back. Basically, you couldn't pay me enough to live in the U.K.

It used to be the best place in the world to live...Yes, even better than the US or absolutely anyway on the planet...but now, not a chance.

I will pass on winning the prize. If I did win, I would sell the property take the cash and live happily ever after somewhere else.

Sorry for all you U.K. residents.

'...Where I am now, Thailand. Cheap as chips...love it here!

Don't fancy Thailand? Plenty of other countries. Just don't think U.K. Europe or the US.

As proved by the stunning Olympics display, Asia is taking over the world. Money to burn!

I'm having a ball and making serious money. A beer and a meal in a Thai restaurant where I live, away from the tourist centres... $3.00 (£1.50)

I sell real estate and, apart from my website earnings, I earn $10,000 every time I sell a property and I sell one every 8 days, on average.

It's not enough to earn the big bucks, you must stop the outgoings if you want to be rich and you'll never stop the outgoings if you live in the U.K.

Magician - I've thought about heading out that wa, but it's too far from family and friends to contemplate at the moment. How do you manage with the visa thing? Pop over the border every few months? How easy is it to live under the radar in Thailand?

I don't really like it here in the UK either and want to move. I really want to live in the US but there's no way I could get a visa :(

EDIT: Wow my mistake, thought this was a recent thread

Depends if your looking for hot or warm or just over uk weather.... further south the further away you get.... but generally the north of france gets a lighter version of what england gets but 2 or 3 days later.... is great for a weather forcast

just yesterday it was snowing in parts of the Uk and we had 2 days of shorts weather :p
