Big G Plans To Penalize All Link Building Activities?

PR and by that links are the core of the Google algorithm so no there is no chance that sites that have links will be penalized. Some easy manipulative methods of getting links will bii less valuable it was the case till now, some new factors like user behavior will be a part of the algo, bad or "unsmart" link building will be a lot easier detected but links will for the long time stay core part of the algo but the ways to get the links will change. I mean basically links = internet.
Probably the more emphasis will be on good quality content to get the links naturally but we don't need to fear of that we just need to adapt (and hire HQ writers).
I heard this a long time ago and it will probably even more important in the future "make the website for the visitors not for Search Engines".

My mistake

For the foreseeable future, user behavior at the level of the search engines will not dictate natural rankings. I challenge any of you to find an efficient algorithm for this that has the ability to ignore the massive amounts of statistical noise produced by such a system. When you find it, don't post it here, go find an attorney, protect your intellectual property, and publish a paper on the subject because you're going to be rich.

The whole concept of using links to measure a sites "worth" is a little bit strange if you think about it. (but it's all we got) First off, hardly anyone does this naturally. How often does the average idiot on Facebook generate a link of some kind? I know my mother has NEVER created a link.

If one assumes that the internet is a democratic network, then everyone has the ability to "vote" by creating a link. Certain people "vote" much more than others. Many people refuse to "vote". As in anything, we rely on opinion leaders to make our choices for us.

I agree - the whole seo industry is based on gaming the system. And so if that's the industry's foundation what's the difference between black hat and white hat techniques (they are all by nature designed to game the system anyways) other than the potential of a black hat technique totally taking over a website

If I had the money to challenge 100'ds of super geniuses working at G with this question, I think eventually I'll get an answer.
