If you were building link, I think you should continue doing it, and you will be back, dont stop now

Is your site only 3 weeks old, or older?

    If it's a new site, probably a dance not a penalty, if it's old, it's a penalty.

How old is the site? How long did you maintain those rankings? Did you stop your link building routine? Did you do anything different that might account for the drop?

That just what happened to one of my sites. It was ranked for many keywords and suddenly the rankings from top 10 went to 500. This might be some of google fluctuations.

I have 4 new sites a few months old no serp movement downwards.

Maybe diversify your link building sources. I would try a couple ezine article submissions and few other authority site links or high pr links.

    Good Luck

I have 10 autoblogs that have dropped off the first page for some keywords, not all though.

I am hoping that it is just pre-Christmas affiliate activity/competition and I am hoping to get all my rankings back!

    My 10 cents.

Nobody knows the answer (well the search engines maybe) so it's a fairly impossible question to answer why any site drops in SERPS.

If it was a quality site with good content then the usual continue link building would be the answer but if it's four months old with scraped content who knows?

Position 300 - 400 does smack of a penalty but temporary / permanent is anyones guess.

Seems mostly scraped / thin / autoblog sites get this type of thing. Most of my sites are WH long term jobs and I do get a bit of jumping about every now and then but it only lasts a short while and I'm back better than before.

Building good sites with fresh quality content backlinked slowly with increased link velocity over time including some high authority inbound links seems to be working for me (for now).
