So, this month I noticed quite a big drop in sales (and commission) on my Amazon affiliate site. My earnings dropped by 40-50% compared to the same period in Dec, Jan, and Feb.

Though it did seem weird at first, I didn`t think much of it but then I read that Amazon raised their free shipping rate from $35 to $50. I was hoping that this drop in sales was just a temporary fluke but it seems it`s here to stay...

The products I am promoting are relatively cheap so I`m guessing people usually bought a few more items just to make it to the $35 mark and get free shipping, but $50 seems, and is, quite high (for the type of products I am selling).

Anyone else noticed a drop in their sales?

Are you promoting prime as well? You might try swinging in some mentions and pointing to the free trial. If they convert you also get a nice chunk of change. I usually see a drop in sales from mid Jan to early march. Pretty much everyone has good sales in DEC so I would take that out of your metric and early JAN is gift cards being used up. My site has a nivche that sees its boost near summer. Depending on your niche, march might not be your thing. Most every niche has a season, maybe you are out of season.

Well, I`m promoting general household items so seasons should not make a big difference but you never know...

That`s a great tip for Prime free trial, by the way! Wasn`t promoting it at all, but it sounds like a good idea. I`m going to insert it into a few top performing articles and see what happens.
