Currently six states, including Assam and Bihar, struggling under floods and lost many people, the government today warned of floods in 12 other states as the "extreme to very heavy rainfall"over the coming three days is ready sharply to rise water levels of 14 rivers and their tributaries.

Already mumbai cities flooding, Mumbai yesterday got a record 298 millimetres (almost 30 centimetres rainfall between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm yesterday.)

The India Meteorological Department have alerted heavy to very heavy rain with isolated extremely heavy rainfall over the next 24 hours over north and central Maharashtra. Mumbai rain lashes out the city.

"The flood warning perception has been set high for parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, as the reservoirs and dams on rivers Mahi, Sabarmati, Banas and their tributaries are already holding 90 to 94 per cent of their capacity." Office goer people stranded last night.

Since Monday, 15 regions in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat have been receiving significant rainfall ranging between 19 and 4 cm. In mumbai official holiday has been declared.

India Meteorological Department and the Union Water Ministry sends an advisory on "very heavy rainfall" over the next three days in parts of 12 states, including Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Daman and Diu. So government have asked people to stay safe.
