When I search Google for keyword research tools they are all very limited unless you pay them. I know for sure the BHW community can share a few of their favorite sites for keyword research. Maybe we can even begin to compile a list of favorites here. Please post the sites you use most for your keyword research.

All replies are greatly appreciated

Use Google's keyword planner, that's the #1 keyword research tool in my opinion.

    Google Adwords Keyword Planner.

I've used LongTail Pro before (free trial). Pretty good, but don't have the income to afford it.

As I've said in another thread, Ultimate Niche Finder is a lot more stable now and can be used to scrape a lot more than 800 keywords from the keyword planner. Term explorer does the same thing as UNF, but is a website.

This true but these programs help analyze the competitiveness of each keyword at incredible speeds. Of course they need manual re-checking but it cuts down the manual checks from a few hundred to just a few. Time is money and I would rather be creating content then tedious manual keyword research. Its not fun and it's time consuming.

I use software for keyword research and it has probably saved me hundreds of hours.

I never understood why people scoff at keyword research software just because they pull information from the keyword planner. They aren't trying to hide the fact that they do. Why not use the most reliable source available for traffic estimates?

If you can improve efficiency then why not use one of these tools? Obviously you can do everything manually but why not take a helping hand?
