BHW Owner And Staff!!

rockamore

Thanks for your really really valuable input, i really admire the fact that you were never a complete newbie and furthermore never made any mistakes so therefore had no lessons to learn from them..well done!!.

Must be great being you!!

One thing i do agree with you about though....

i didnt create it to get ridiculed even more, and im sure if they (bhw) didnt want anybody's opinions on improvements, from newbies or senior members, then the facility to do so wouldnt be on the site...

Maybe we should have to pass an aptitude test on joining eh??

Thanks to everyone who responded with their feedback.

Harro has a point and a good one at that. You should realise that using the search function to find what you want will get you way more information you did not know as a newbie. That is the value of a forum.

There is very little to gain in a genie-master kind of relationship with the forum, where you ask questions that have been answered a number of times over. This leads you to asking many more related questions that are in the posts you would have uncovered during your search.

Yes it involves time, but that is what many people before you have done and they have been successful and grateful. A mindset of expecting everything on silver platter is not productive, although I too may want it.

my impression is that you believed you had a clever idea and envisioned that you would somehow be put in charge of a 'noobie' thread.

you were told NO (by Harr0), and it was suggested that you learn to use the search function. others added on places like google and ask...;)

yet you kept up with pushing and seeing if there was something more to explore? and now you are getting ruffled for taking some heat? you should have bowed out after an admin said 'no'.

you should spend your time here learning, and not worrying about improving the site/forum.

take care and take it easy,

R-

I wasnt going to reply, but thought i'd add my last comment

I sincerely just wanted to find out if anyone else had the same views and if i was challenged, to prove i had the ba**S to follow through rather than "shout from behind a wall".

Yes fair enough, i look like a newb who has come on a forum making outlandish claims of how to improve an already established, and successfull site. That was never my intention..I maybe a newbie..but i aint THAT stupid!!

Rhino-I may have seemed a bit pretentious by volunteering myself, and by no means whatsoever did i expect the responses to be orientated more towards THAT fact, than the one which i actually aimed for, however both have been shot down in flames.

So ok i get the message i'll doubly search the forum, use the search function extensively, search through the threads , try my luck on google and if that fails then i can post a question without fear of ridicule.

Cheers to everyone that added a comment..

I shall now scuttle away, tail between legs, and hibernate for the summer..;)

Nah, I like the image of a newbie sweating to figure out what DP means.
I went through something similar, and you should too!

p.s. i'm the sweetest member on the board.

I love the idea of having a "Newbie's" section. Would definitely clear up the spam, and people couldn't say repost. ;)

I have experience with forums and unfortunately this is not true. You would still see people making posts without using search! Search is your friend, use it before posting!
