Lately, I have seen a lot of negative responses when someone asks a question.

I mean, is that really necessary. If you were a new member or confused on a subject, asked a question ebcause you couldn't find the answer or didn't know how(and believe me, we've all been there) and you get a negative, sarcastic response how would you feel? A little pissed off right? I mean, you're trying to make something of your IM career and you get people who bring negativity all in your mix. I just think we should be more positive and share with each other.

    DON'T GET ME WRONG

There are many positive and helpful members of the community and sometimes a little sarcasm as a joke or poking fun at someone is okay, but let's not take it too far. So, let's all work together and make some good money. Good luck and REMEMBER, ALWAYS TAKE ACTION.

I completely agree, like my aunt used to always tell me if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all, in this case if you don't have anything to contribute then please reframe from typing.

Exactly, we're bhw and we should all try and help the community and newer members as much as possible.

I will agree there's some out right rude members, but there's also 500x stupid questions that's asked over and over and over and over again, I mean I was a noob before also but at the same time, if your ass can't use the search button then IM is prolly not your cup of tea with that being said I don't think any member nor mods or admins...want to baby sit every noob with every little problem or issue they have...that's just my 2 cents when I was a noob when i asked stupid questions I got the same sacarstic remarks and jokes but it also made me think before posting, or at least be proactive about searching for information first before asking a crazy question especially when the topic has been covered so many times.

If a member asks a genuine question, then by all means they should be given a non negative answer.

However, I do believe that if members start making posts titled "How do I make money", they deserve any hate they get. Think about it this way. If I posted that same question, and I had people leaving negative comments, Id take that as a learning point and that alone will motivate me.

Not being rude at all, but if a member asks a really stupid question (like "How do I make money"), then I don't really know what to say to them. Most likely Il ignore, but members like those need to understand that you need to work hard life in life to get results.

I'm not going to sugarcoat anything. If a person asks a dumbass question, they'll get a sarcastic response. Good question that hasnt been asked before/varied circumstances? Proper answer. This isn't the first grade people, learn to use some common sense and not cry when someone hurts your feelings.

Maybe we need a "guide for newbs asking questions" and the first rule of thumb should be DO NOT ASK HOW TO MAKE MONEY FAST or anything of that nature

you called? here i am... lolz

any reasonable question should be met with a reasonable answer
but sometimes you have to admit a lot of new members want a spoon fed
method without the hassle of the learning process involved. so yes a little
sarcasm comes in. we've all done it there are no saints on bhw. no1 is perfect.

LOL. 90% of people in the world are harsh, insensitive, self-centered, arrogant, know it all assholes. It's exacerbated on BHW due to the anonymity that BHW provides. It's a crystal clear window into the human race, and it disgusts me every day. However, there are some positive notes every now and then.

Just gotta ignore the negativity and move on.

    Hello SmileAtmyWins:

I agree with you. However, Black Hat World has become quite
large now and we have hundreds of thousands of members with
various personalities. Those are the many colors of our forum.

Some of our members have reached a level of maturity that
allows them to debate or criticize in a RATIONAL way, without
being hurtful to others. On the other hand, we also have some
members who have not yet matured, and they tend to react
    emotionally rather than rationally.

Obviously, there is no way that we (the staff) can change their
thinking. All we can do is moderate their posts and step in
when things get too far out of hand.

My good friend and fellow moderator, "blackhit" once said
something to me which I have always remembered. He said,
"It is important to always keep in mind that there is a real
person behind the screen of that other computer you are
talking to, and he/she has real feelings, just like we do."

Being rude and mean is not cool. BHW is a forum for
professional marketers, so let's all strive to act in a
professional manner. It makes it better for everyone. :)

    Thanks B-Hatters! - "Wiz"

I've been on several forums, and I've noticed that experienced members get jaded by the same questions over, and over, and over.

However, forums are hard to navigate if you're not familiar. No one reads the "please read".

I agree that negativity isn't always the answer. But...

When I was a sales manager, I'd have people walk in wearing jeans to an interview. I wouldn't even shake their hand. I'd say "Thanks for coming in, if you're not going to take the time to dress in a professional fashion, I'm not going to take the time to interview you. Have a good day." Obviously people were pissed, offended... I had ONE person who went home, ironed a shirt and threw on some khakis, came right back and demanded an interview. I hired him that day. He was one of the most successful people I had working for me.

    - point being - Really successful people take the insults/feedback and change themselves. If you're gonna go cry because we told you to search (even if we said it like jerks), you're not cut out for this kind of work. What happens when adsense sends you a "screw you we're keeping your money" email?

Its not that its a stupid question but rather a pointless question. Some people think that they can just ask "show me how to make money today that requires no effort on my part" and the answer will magically fall in their laps....lol

Excellent point Mr. Wiz but I see it like this if we care about the person on the other side of the computer sometimes it is best to give them some "tough love" but yeah it can be done in a constructive manner. I am by no means perfect at this and I myself have been rude on this forum plenty of times but like I said sometimes it is for their own good to be upfront with them.

That is one beautiful, true quote!

And even if we create basic tutorial threads for the 'noobs', there are still going to be many members who still post the usual "how do I make money" posts. It's something we just need to learn to accept I guess.

That is because of lack of knowledge, I think every reply to those threads should be:
"Read BHW 12 hours a day for 5 months straight and if you still have questions ask me".

    ah well :p

yes this would be a good way to respond to these questions. they should put some effort into it first because I have always felt the best way to learn something is to figure it out on your own. this way you truly understand the concept
