The Web is full of dodgy SEO practices, our inboxes are full of spam, relative unknowns somehow have hundreds of thousands of Twitter followers and viruses are all over the place. Much of this behavior can be traced to criminal organizations such as the Russian Business Network, which specializes in building botnets and identity theft.
On the other hand, there are sites like BlackHatWorld. These forums are home to thousands of people interested in Internet marketing - but not the kind that has become standard in the startup industry, based on trust, respect and adhering to best practices when it comes to honest copywriting and double opt-in mailing lists.
Instead, the likes of BlackHatWorld's membership resort to the buying and selling of Twitter followers to artificially pump up social proof - something that'll come back to bite you, as Dave Peck and Azeem Azhar now have the retrospect to tell you. They look for ways to pry your email address out of your hands in exchange for worthless downloadable gifts. They use spam bots to drive traffic. They use the worst of the worst of SEO tactics to increase their rankings - you know this fellow selling .EDU backlinks is probably some university IT staffer making a bit of cash on the side.
These people don't believe in what they're selling. They're looking for those elusive quick riches that "Internet marketing gurus" like Yanik Silver and John Reese sell to the gullible. They're the kind of gurus who will tell you that grabbing a public domain book and converting it into a PDF with some crappy bonus content is a solid approach to product development.
There are some really disturbing things in this list, but these are the guys who make our day-to-day lives on the Internet so damn annoying.
Thats disturbing man :/
Wow....thats the ten most disturbing things they were able to find on the Internet ? Noooobs
I would say perhaps the worst elements of this forum - the spammers and so on - do deserve a mention there. Most of us, however, are just trying to push the envelope of SEO and make money, ethically!
I guess its disturbing for them to see members here that have success and have a better life than them. Jealous enough?
We can make it a scarier community by making the forum invite only for one month
This is where the Rogues Gallery Ends on BHW
A Job Worth Doing is a Job Worth Doing Well
IMO Warrior Forum is far, far worse than BHW. Members over there make a living selling crap to unsuspecting noobs. Most services on BHW are actually pretty good, so are the products. The same certainly cannot be said for WSOs where 99% are complete junk.
So if BHW is getting called out for people selling .edu links, how come there's no mention of fiverr ? Surely they are 200 times worse.
Don't think ive visited that site before, for a website about the web the whole article reads like a grandma explains the Internet shtick
BWH - Disturbing? What the hell?
And the comment box allows do-follow linking. Step up boys.
The author needs to get out more. Although there are many spammers it's hardly the bulk of BHW posts.
prrrrr.. bcz that writer don't know about SEO ., he afraid bcz of our black color .. SEO = black hat , that he don't know ..
this is my comment there
wait who said black hat wold is disturbing ... GTFO
my thoughts as well. I've seen posts offering negative SEO services...some bullying...even witchcraft!
and don't forget craigslist
They can get bent, spam is g00gle's fault all alone...
Talking about Wafo? You ain't have any idea abt bhw bitch.
Yeah you seems like a failed noob who wasted prolly some time over here and haven't made a dime yet. Pretty much sums up why its annoying for you. lol..
lol someone please xrumer that page. The author has listed Blackhatworld.com in the list with Child Pornography? Are you Kidding? Blackhat is a Skill and its not fraud.. This is what called marketing.. Admin should contact the site owner to clear it out as this can affect the Forum's repo
I agree, the black theme is quite dark and disturbing . Ridiculous list though, BHW has to be one of the most helpful and generous forums i frequent on the internet. Lots of people sharing ideas, journals, information etc.
I guess black hat SEO may be a bit controversial due to automated link spamming and rubbish auto content generation etc. But all it is, is pushing the boundaries on what all webmasters do - trying to better there SERPS.
Take a different approach and look at the statement from a different angle! How do you know that the person who wrote it is not a member of BHW and just wants the noobs to stay away? We've already got a pretty damn community so such reviews will not hurt the current members, they will only make new noobs wary of signing up.
Fuck um, haters gonna hate! We got the best SEO services on the web for sale here, why the fuck do you think that most offline SEO companies outsource their link building to the service providers on here? Because we got the best thats why, I've got clients that you wouldn't even believe I'm talking large corporations here that have found me through BHW! But meh theres always going to be uninformed idiots out there.....
