I'd like to give back to the BHW members for all the help, tips and freebee's I've received here so I'm offering all BHW members a free 90 day rtmp streaming media account. The specs:
    1. 10 GB of storage
    2. Up to 100 concurrent connections
    3. Unlimited bandwidth
    4. 1000 MBS connection
    5. One application
You can use it for live streaming video, webcam chat, webcam recording, sell video ad space etc.
You can stream anything up to HD but you do need to take into account net latency, consumers bandwidth, etc.
You do need your own website to stream through but the stream should not impact your bandwidth.
If you do not know about rtmp streaming or would like to give it a try, I'll try to give what help I can.
Sorry but I can't provide you with an application, we have four in development but they will not be completed until mid July.
    Rules:
    1. Nothing illegal
    2. Not for site hosting
    3. No file sharing services
    4. No MX service (had someone actually try this)
To get a account, post your request in this thread then PM me these details:
    1. website name
    2. website IP address
    3. application name and type
This is for BHW members only as a thanks.

Wow! Thought this thread was long dead and gone! ramanan: I looked at your example, that's easy, and can actually be done on a normal server, just need a video player, like jplayer or flowplayer or coded in HTML5, but I still can do it, it's just my server setup is overkill for your example. My server is set up with Red5, a flash media server, and FFMPEG video server with full player, video/audio conversion etc enabled. Right now the only site that's using it is the webcam video chat application on wuzzl.com. The server has 1000 mb up speed and a 10 gig pipe. Can handle 100 concurrent connections at 1080 dp.
I've got FFMPEG configured to calculate the optimal quality, measures user speed and latency, then buffers accordingly, example user at 2 mb with 120 ms latency on a 1 minute video will buffer about 10 seconds of video before playing at 320p, usually takes about 3 seconds to load the buffer. This avoids hanging video. For live, it's a little more complicated, but works the same.
Video chat's are different, they take precedence and have no buffer, straight pipe. The server still figures best quality for the speed/latency and sets for that.
For both of you, shoot me your website, it's IP addresses and what application you want to run and an estimate of the use, that is quality of the video, average concurrent connections, does the broadcast need to be converted. Bit of advice, if you just want to do video ads, it would be easier to run those off your own server, if it has the speed and pipe. That said, I'll take a look and see how I can get you set up.
