    Is it just me?

Or are the long infographics on BST's in the marketplace getting more out of hand?

I had a simple task. I needed a package of links to dilute and diversify a site. Should be simple, but no. I have spent hours scrolling through these damn graphics and still no closer to picking something.

There's another problem too. In many cases there is no actual text in the first post - just a huge graphic.
This means you cant even use site:blackhatworld.com searches to find stuff. Oi sellers!... the SEO on your SEO threads is shit!

Another problem with the above is hover not working if you are searching on BHW. All you get is [img-]randomfreejpghost.com[/img-] etc etc

Maybe its just me over reacting to it a bit but it is a massive waste of time for everybody im sure.

In an ideal world the start of the OP on a sales thread would detail what you actually buy and how much it costs but i know that will never happen as its all about the sales.

any thoughts? am i searching wrong or something?

I only open BST threads to look at the pictures.

Im not saying we should deprive you of your picturebook time but maybe we can have a bit of reading practice too ;)

It's up to the seller to make his/her thread appealing, unfortunately very few people have a feel for design, so you'll see all kinds of threads.
In the end you aren't here to look at the pictures, all you should care about is the offer so... whatever?

I like the ones that have 2,000+ words of incoherent "sales" drivel at the start

1/2 the Marketplace seems to be trying to impress kids with some spare money.

I'm not sure why people use infographics for sales pages.

Pictures I get. Infographics are a bit much. Although they can be tastefully done (as mentioned by @hasa1015) most of the time they're a million miles long and make me feel like I'm reading a comic book.

But it's not really a huge deal. It's annoying but I don't lose sleep over it.

they are annoying on mobiles also, graphics don't show properly on my phone so i just ignore them and move on. Maybe they think it impresses newbies enough to throw their money at the service because they have a cartoon character in their sales thread.

I actually like the info graphics. After seeing so many I feel like if you don't have one your too lazy to make one and maybe I shouldn't hire you. Of course some text is good as stated above, so as to make it more searchable. That's always nice.

Good to know you won't be buying from me.

That's one less thing I have to worry about.

I happen to think those stupid infographics are completely unprofessional, and I would never use them to advertise my services.

If you're too lazy to read my text-only sales page, you're not the type of person I want as a client.

To each his own, but you might wanna work on your bedside manner (and your paragraph structure) a bit. It's good for business, which I wish you much success in, even if you are too lazy to make an infographic ;)

I'm a copywriter, not a doctor. If people can't take my personality they can fuck right off. I do not kiss ass.

As for your jab at my paragraph structure, I find this amusing, especially when compared to yours.

    Zero given.

Sometimes flashy stuff sells, but there is limit, I personally hate when the first post is 3 miles long and the person felt the need to post EVERY single good review they've ever had.
People can read the thread, they don't need 1 million quoted posts and images of reviews and all this extra info at the start, it feels like a nasty clutter.

I think the absolute worst part of these is when they quote miles long compliments as "reviews" after the infographic and the majority of these comments are not even from this forum and not even from this year (which they hide of course)
This phenomenon can be found mostly in diversified link building threads..

I only wrote one paragraph. Only so many ways you can structure it. But anyway I'm not in the mood to compare dicks with you (you seem upset already).

So back to the point of this thread. I'll elaborate on my earlier statement. I like infographic s. They help me to quickly see if I'm even interested before I waste too much time.

That being said, I also appreciate when someone takes the time to do a good write up and explain things in detail. So kudos to you for your hard work writing all that shit up.

I'm really not sure why you are coming at me so hostile though. Maybe your just having a bad day. So let's kiss and make up, agree to disagree, get the fuck over it and move on.

I really do wish you success in your endeavors BTW. No hard feelings (on my end anyway).

Yeah, its a little annoying, but reading a whole thread with only "May I have some samples" and "I would love to have a review copy" is also a little annoying.
