Have a look at the following screenshot:

Screenshot_1.png

Currently 829 members online. This number used to be over 1200-1300 last year. So members are 30-40% down. It is because 100's of members get banned every month.

Even though new members are joining, because ACTIVE & OLD members got banned due to one reason or the another, overall members have gown down and hence activity on BHW has reduced significantly.

  • I see lots of threads with no or 1 or 2 replies now
  • Quality of the posts have reduced since lots of forum contributors and active members got banned.

I am sure Mods, admins and owner must have noticed this drastic change. If not, this is why I have opened this thread to highlight the facts and what to do to rectify the situation. It's a shame that a site like BHW have less than 1000 members online at any given time. This can easily be over 3000 if simple changes are implemented.

I strongly suggest the following ways :

  • Force guest members to register: As you can see in the above screenshot, there are over 2200 people surfing BHW without being registered. This number was over 3700 when I checked last time. Guest members are not contributing in any way. By forcing them to register when they want to see any thread, the number of members will go up drastically as well as the activity of the forum. I saw another forum forcing registration and guess what? They have over 4000 members online at any given time and less than 1000 are guest- Just the opposite of BHW.

  • STOP banning members PERMANENTLY. I know some members are banned temporarily but most of them are permanent. Apart from severe breakage of rules like Scamming or mods abuse, all members should be temporarily banned, depending on the severity of the issue. For example, if someone is spamming, after they reach 10 points, they can be banned for 1 month. Same can be done for inappropriate behaviour.
As lots of forum contributors got banned in recent months, both ACTIVITY & QUALITY of posts have gone down significantly.

I am afraid if this carries on for a few more months, BHW might not become a PASSIVE forum - just like another popular forum which was very active few years ago but now, no one even visit that site.

Things can change quite quickly if drastic measures are not taken.

I sincerely hope that some concrete action will be taken soon.

Thanks for reading.

Why would someone be banned for a month, if they're scamming? Wouldn't that encourage scammers to just grow more and more into the forum? How would BHW be authentic if there would be fear that some seller might still be able to scam them and he goes free after a month of ban.
Scamming and abuse of staff is not refundable... they are banned without an opportunity to return.

Really? A lot of buyers on marketplaces aren't registered, I would suspect

Define "inappropriate behaviour" = fake bumps on BSTs?, multiple accounts?

How about we only allow guests to see the marketplace?

I dont agree with any of these suggestions but i can see why are people leaving the Forum. It feels like that the Forum has become a paradise for Scammers, members dont like that or have been scammed themselves and decided to leave...

I don't think forcing guests to register is a good idea for organic traffic.

When you take a look at Similarweb, you can see that BHW gets a good amount of traffic through search, and it even increased over the past few weeks and months.

Did you read the post carefully? I said a month ban for SPAMMING, not SCAMMING. SCAMMERS should be given a permanent ban which I already mentioned.

BHW has been around for such a long time, despite the fact that social media got much more popular than forums in the last 10-20 years.

Many people were afraid that BHW would go down, and it's still up and running.

Personally, I don't know about other forums with the activity level of BHW.

As to the forum going down, the growth is still exponential so that is probably not going to happen in our lifetimes.

we should definitely need more peoples “More quality and good peoples”
Says someone who has 90% of their posts over the past 48 hours.... Then decides to hide their profile after upgrading to be able to reply to HAF and WTBs...

You are assuming that the downtrend is because BHW fell in quality somehow. I'd like to think that most members "graduated" the phase of their digital careers when they were out hunting for the next "method" to make money from.

"methods" have become businesses for a lot of folks. Some may have a portfolio of blogs to manage, or a PBN network to maintain, etc. And businesses need attentions - so little time to shitpost here in BHW :)

The guy replied to more than 10 HAF threads in the past hour, all of them related to a different topic. This isn't going to end well.
