I'm like a sleepy child who's head is nodding but refuses to go to sleep for fear of missing something.

I tell myself "I'm going to work on this today" but I start reading threads in BHW and the next thing I know, hours have passed.

I don't want to miss any tips or ideas that could help my success, but in the process of trying to absorb everything, I accomplish nothing.

    So I pose this question...

For those of you who are successful? how do you manage your time between reading and posting on BHW and the actual work involved to be successful.

I have searched by the way and have found no threads about time management.

Hi Eventus, I find myself in similar situation at times, so much dragged by the content in here, However not always as it depends on what market you are in, or what product you sell, But if you are yet to decide on selecting the right niche, then yes you might keep reading and never get started.
So 1st step select the right product or niche ( a bit time consuming) or blindly follow what other are doing here then marketing marketing marketing and marketing( including SEO if web), possibly you will spend time on finding how to market afterwards, however you allocate certain time of the day for marketing only and rest of the ime you can be doing research..
Follow the universal rule: spend 30% time on research and remining on your action(marketing)Thats my belief however other Bhatters might have different views.

Yeah I suppose I should have rephrased the question...

Those of you who are successful but still maintain a non IM day job...

I tend to work then come here for a break.... Which usualy turns into an extended break!

The information here is overwhelming and back when i found the site i just sat and read, then read more and more until my head started to hurt.. Eventually youll find something that you keep reading up on, then just make a start with that..

Someone once wrote in a thread that you should find something to work on and dont got to bhw for atleast a week.. I never took up on the advice because i dont want to cold turkey :)

I agree. BHW is a great site and I would hate to miss anything that goes on here.

I'm getting another batch of coffee ready.

Black Hat World can be very seductive. There is just so-o-o-o much great info and tools here.

Usually, when one starts here as a member (and I am speaking for myself when I first became a member), one has a tendency to spend an awful lot of time perusing the archives and looking for new posts. That is common. I have heard others say that as well. . . But eventually, you have to get your priorities straight and discipline yourself to GET BACK TO WORK.

It's hard, I know . . . but without taking action, none of the ideas here are of any use whatsoever. It just becomes "information for entertainment purposes only".

Schedule yourself to set aside an hour or a half hour per day to check the forum for new stuff, then go back to your project(s).

Black Hat World Rocks! . . . We ALL know that, but you have to take a good look at yourself and realize when you are becoming a "BHW junkie".

    Cheers! - "Wiz"

You are wrong, BHW is much more addicting than crack.

I got caught up in the forum life for over a year. Now, I check in on various forums maybe 2 or 3 times per week.

It's the only way you will get any work done.

Thanks for clearing that up Monty. I guess I should have experienced a crack addiction before I made such an ignorant statement. ;)

This is pretty much the only forum I spend any time on anymore. And a couple others maybe, but this one for the most part. I used to hang out on DP and WF all the time....bleh.

    GO BHW!
