Just checking in to see if there are any other shooters here on BHW. I just picked up my second Glock (a 17, just got my CCW so need something smaller). I also own a few shotguns, an SKS, and some fun cheapo 22's that are all modded and whatnot. I know a few people on here who have a decent collection, but figured we could use a thread to bullshit in.

I think uk has a no handgun law, but not terribly sure. Um I paid 500 for my Glock 17 new, but you can pick up one used for 350 or so I think. I am looking at a desert eagle though right now, it's ~1700 new I think, and my buddy needs to sell it so may pick it up for 1k. But I also have a benelli shotgun that I paid around 1300 for BEFORE mods. I know a few serious gun owners locally who have $30k antique guns, so really 500 for a glock is not that bad in perspective lol.

My other glock is a 22 and I love it. I actually get tighter patterns with my 17 though, but I have smaller hands. I do love my 22 though.

No seriously we need to remove guns from the UK not add to them...

Not unless your shooting rabbits, then get yourself a 22.

I got a magnum, still in the box.. tested it once, but that's about it.. I know how to fire it, and perhaps that's all that matters. I bought it for security reasons.

;) i don't like magnums even the dam 357. revolver gives bad kickback and isn't fun shooting range atleast

in the otherhand we have some shotguns for hunting and few 22. and few bigger pistols, also semi-auto rifle and 1 automatic rifle what they used in WW2 and 1 i guess ... Automatic guns are not legal here for civilians tho.

Got to say was also looking to buy Deagle sometime for fun :p

Yeah the Eagle is fun, I've shot the one I may end up buying a few times, and it's def. a huge change from the glock. Glocks are definitely practical though for most people, and they are pretty low maintenance compared to some of the comparable handguns out there. They are a lot like an AK in the sense that they will still shoot in some of the worse conditions imaginable, and are pretty reliable still.

LOL @ UK + Handgun..Buzzing. You get 5 years + 1 extra year per bullet, so if you have a full clip you're looking to do some heavy time. Of course on good behavior you may just be let out earlier. The gun policy is a zero-tolerance; the only way to enforce such rule and it's 5 years bang slap on...but if you're in a car with 4 other people who won't talk they may just split it up to 1 yr each ;)

It all depends on the size of the frame - the larger the lesser the kick. I have a 6" S&W 686 .41 magnum, which is considered a large frame revolver. It was a pleasure to shoot, because the weight of the frame absorbs the recoil making it feel more like "push" instead of a "snap".

By contrast, I also have a Glock 19. Even with the relatively low-powered 9mm cartridge it snaps violently in my hand because its frame is smaller & lighter that the 686.

I am more of a rifle guy though, and I own about 20 long guns: H&K 91 93 94 SL-8, various AR-15 variations, various AK-47 variations, M1-A, M1, etc. all legal semi-auto versions but I can't keep at home because I live in stinking pinko-liberal NYC.

I am and always have been a big gun enthusiast. I got my first rifle for my 4th birthday (.22 short - a chipmunk, shot cb caps to get started) as I was born and raised in Alaska and this is how it is.

    I have a .40 s&w, a .40 XD, a 9mm kahr, a .45 springfield 1911 and a beretta .22 (little girly itty bitty pistol).

For rifles I have an extremely modded ruger 10/22, a pre ban (from way back before clinton times) AR-15 and MAC-90 (which is like an AK-47), both with some cool mods. I also have a second ruger 10/22 (best .22 I have ever owned) which is my small bird gun and I have a mossberg mariner 500 (12 gauge) which is my pride and joy. I have a heat shield, sweet flashlight, nice collapsable stock, etc. entire gun refinished in a blue steel.

These are my babies at the moment but my collection is always adding and getting rid of guns.

PS in the state of Alaska you don't need a concealed carry permit, if you legally own a firearm you can carry it concealed everywhere but schools and the police station. I exercise this right daily as do many others.

I have a decent collection of both rifles and pistols, from 22 up to 44 magnum with pistols, and from 22 up to 375 H&H magnum with rifles.

I've been a shooter and hunter all of my life. I live in the Northwest area of the US. Like many here, I've always enjoyed shooting the smaller calibers. The largest calibers always kick too much for accurate shooting, when I shoot more than just a few rounds.

I used to shoot pistol matches in the 70's and 80's. Back then I was pretty hard to beat.
