    Hey Guys!

I need your advice? I?m looking for a good web scraping software to help me gather some data from Yelp. I just need to gather a company?s name, phone number, address and the website address if they have one listed.

I have looked at Mozenda, and they seem they can get the job, but I don?t want to subscribe to a monthly plan. Nevertheless, if they are my only best option, I will consider them. What are your thoughts on them? Have any of you used Mozenda, or familiar with them?

Now, uBotstudio seem to be a good option as well. I?ve heard it does a decent job automating various web pages. However, its data extraction tool is not that robust. There are numerous steps to take in order to successfully extract data from a web page. I haven?t read a whole lot about them, so any light you guys can share would be appreciated.

I am weighing my options to whether I should hire a freelancer to build me a simple custom software for Yelp.

Have you guys heard of Webiify, or dealt with them? I checked out their site, and they seem to have a pretty cool software. It shows on their site that their software; Webii can also extract data from any website as well automate any web page. I was thinking of giving their software a shot. They seem like a new company; therefore, I want to exercise due diligence. Have any of you used their software, or heard any negative thing about them?

Alright guys, help me out! I need your feedbacks? Thanks!

What people don't seem to understand is that a "simple" scraping php script isn't nearly as easy as a solution like UBot.

We've already got one UBot customer selling a yelp scraper: http://network.ubotstudio.com/forum/index.php?/topic/18378-sell-yelp-leads-scraper-bot/

But I can guarantee you it wouldn't take much time to build one in UBot.

Here's a UBot solution - it's not perfect because I don't have it filling in blanks where there isn't an element, but it's a good start.

    Code:
    ui text box("city",#city)
    ui text box("state (acronym)",#state)
    ui text box("keyword",#keyword)
    navigate("http://www.yelp.com/search?find_desc={#keyword}&find_loc={#city}%2C+{#state}&ns=1","Wait")
    wait for browser event("Everything Loaded","")
    add list to list(%name,$scrape attribute(<src=w"//s3-media*.fl.yelpcdn.com/bphoto/*/90s.jpg">,"alt"),"Delete","Global")
add list to table as column(&biz,0,0,%name)
    add list to list(%area,$page scrape("<span class=\"neighborhood-str-list\">
                "," </span>"),"Delete","Global")
add list to table as column(&biz,0,1,%area)
    add list to list(%address,$page scrape("<address>","<br>"),"Delete","Global")
add list to table as column(&biz,0,2,%address)
    add list to list(%phone,$page scrape("<span class=\"biz-phone\">
            ","
        </span>"),"Delete","Global")
add list to table as column(&biz,0,3,%phone)
    loop while($exists(<class="page-option prev-next next">)) {
        navigate("http://www.yelp.com/search?find_desc={#keyword}&find_loc={#city}%2C+{#state}&start={$table total rows(&biz)}","Wait")
        wait for browser event("Everything Loaded","")
        add list to list(%name,$scrape attribute(<src=w"//s3-media*.fl.yelpcdn.com/bphoto/*/90s.jpg">,"alt"),"Delete","Global")
add list to table as column(&biz,0,0,%name)
        add list to list(%area,$page scrape("<span class=\"neighborhood-str-list\">
                "," </span>"),"Delete","Global")
add list to table as column(&biz,0,1,%area)
        add list to list(%address,$page scrape("<address>","<br>"),"Delete","Global")
add list to table as column(&biz,0,2,%address)
        add list to list(%phone,$page scrape("<span class=\"biz-phone\">
            ","
        </span>"),"Delete","Global")
add list to table as column(&biz,0,3,%phone)
    }
    alert("scraped {$table total rows(&biz)} items")

Luminus, is that what it takes to create a bot? Because, if that is, it looks a bit complex for me. I'm looking for something easier, and Mozenda seems to fit that; however, I do not want to pay a monthly fee. Is there anything else you can recommend?

Ah, I shared the script with you because you can plug-and-play it and just get started with it in UBot, and make any edits you need. I guess it doesn't make it look too easy tho ;|

I made most of it by dragging and dropping, so it was actually pretty easy. It's just a series of "add to list" commands that grab the element you are trying to add to your list. The structure is

<ui commands that let the user tell what they want to search>
<add to list commands that grab the first pages of data>
<loop the same commands until there's no arrow button>

For daily scraping, I don't think there's anything that's going to work better than UBot. Mozenda and other things like it that are web-based aren't custom enough for most users. It may take a few more days to get started when you use UBot, but hey that's the "think" in the "grow rich" part, right ;)

Lol, thanks for sharing! I will have to check out some of the videos that UbotStudio has on Youtube. And I don't mind problem solving, but I just don't want to spend time on something that may turn out to be counter-productive. I'm trying to save time and not spend more time... I'm not a computer guru :)

Hey, AutomateIt! That sounds pretty easy and cool. I am really intrigued by Webii! I went backed on your site and noticed you guys offered a lite version for free. I downloaded the lite version, and let me just say that is a REALLY IMPRESSIVE-looking software! After watching the "Getting Started" tutorial video you guys have within the software I was blown away by how intuitive this thing was. So, I went ahead and created a simple task myself as I saw in the video, and it worked! Even though it was only a few simple steps, I was
    still impressed.

However, you guys don't have the "Data Grabber" active in the lite version which is what I'm really interested in trying. I guess will have to upgrade my lite version, huh? You guys offer a 14-day money back, so if it doesn't work out for me, I can return it. I'm sold... are you able to give me a little discount?
