why do people follow then unfollow?

I think the theory behind it is to follow people and if you like the info (or the conversion), then continue. It can also be used to keep you under the threshold of too many followers. It can make you look like a spammer.

we are marketers here, so if somebody don't follow you back in a given time frame, it's more likely it will never follow you back (or that person is not active enough to worth to keep one slot amongst your following), hence there's no need to follow that person furthermore
on the other hand, there's also a following limit on twitter (2000, then your followers plus 10%)
and it doesn't look too good either, if you have 50 followers and 1500 followings (and not so many of those 1500 would like to follow you back), so you need to unfollow from time to time to keep the ball rollin, it's just as important as the following part
to OP: is this your site? i'm just askin, because it's not the wisest thing to give out your account details
other thing, if it leaves footprints, you also can be fcuked
and also does it use API?
