Guys, we're blessed to be sitting in front of a PC in a cozy place pursuing our online dreams.

Let's take a moment to help the victims of the Philippines. Anything you contribute means a heck of a lot.

All of these institutions are respectable and are on-site at the disaster areas. Whatever you donate to them WILL be put to good use. I've donated to the Red Cross, I hope that bit of love reaches a friend in the Philippines.

Beware of scams and fake donations pages. The above 5 sites are the main respectable institutions working right now on-site at the disaster areas. Anything you donate means a lot.

    Godspeed, Philippines.

Just made a small donation myself to the redcross.org.ph organization. It's about $10, but this is what I can currently afford to. If we all gather small 5-10$ donations we can make some change for these people out there. Most of us do not realize what is happening, because it's not happening to us... Be a better person today and help others, even very small donations will be of use to somebody.

Note that if you are going to donate, you are donating in a PHP currency, which I guess is the philipino currency. I checked on Google, and today 1USD = 43.19 PHP

So if you want to donate $10 it would be ~431 PHP

What is happening is a tragic for all humanity, be supportive and pray for all of them with all your heart!

A bunch of bats destroyed a beehive where thousands of bees lived. God must be cruel

Do you expect to sit safely in an air conditioned room eating lobsters all your life while God sends you a check every month on the 1st? Or perhaps you'd prefer to not even have to bother to eat and take a shite, and just expect to enjoy life without even having to bother to breathe? That's the God that'd be "perfect" right? How far are you willing to go in your ridiculing?

What's the ideal meaning of life for you?

I will be donating too. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those effected.

@bartosimpsonio - This is a great thread. It's nice to know there actual people out there who still have compassion for humans. So many people are so selfish. Thanks.

Just donated a small amount.. Incredibly but donating around 30$, the page says you can supply 7 entire families with one month of water !!!

    This is simply shocking :/
I wish the best of luck to people who survived, and my condolences to the families that lost their members!

Yes, we have no idea how a couple of simple things we take for granted can really help abroad. Skip having a six pack of beer and you've bought food for a month for a family somewhere in need....

Sadly, I recall very well the last such tragedy. They are unable to recover the dead, and it becomes a calamity. In a few days the land becomes a graveyard of decaying human beings.... We usually have no idea how much our help is valuable.

It warms the heart to know that somewhere acrossthe sea someone is receiving help from BHW. You can be sure this community made a difference, which is pretty neat if you think about it, how without leaving our desks we can help too even if we can't be there in person.

I donated the same amount that I spend eating lunch out today, to the PH Red Cross.

And agree with you, bartosimpsonio, in your advice to only donate to the major operators. There are plenty of shonks that surface in times like these...

EDIT: PS - if you're considering making a donation, make it the same amount you spend on lunch. You didn't think twice when you bought lunch, so don't think twice to buy someone else some hope for a better day.
