Well, according to Glenn Gabe, Penguin 2.1 now targets Do Follow blogs (I can't post the link but just search for "Glenn Gabe Penguin 2.1" in Google).

Does this mean that all the BHW Blog Packages are no longer useful for ranking your website? If Glenn Gabe is right, any BHW Blog package will just help to penalize your site in Penguin 2.1.

    What do you guys think?

Depends on your niche pal, do follow blog comments will always be helpful but only if you get niche relevant links. Also google is now clear that their focus is on brand recognition, instead of cramming your anchors with emds, its better if you have your brand as the anchor, itll still give passive linkjuice. And the posts made need to be unique and relevant to each article.

People still believe what google says. I bought a package from this forum a couple of weeks ago for high PR blog commenting since penguin2.1 hammered my 2 test sites from page 2 to nowhere. I am back on page 2 right now and some on page 1 (but position 9-10). Not sure if it was a result of that but the ONLY thing I did was to buy blog comments (20 for each web site).

I suggest you try on you own. The prices here are really cost effective and you get a detailed report so you can disavow if you dont like it.

You mean now Penguin will target all blogs passing Page rank through do-follow pages? That's bulshit but yes Google will keep trying and they will never succeed

They have 0 chance to track that unless the blog network owners leave some kind of obvious footprints. Now if you are talking about sites who have do-follow enabled in their comment section then maybe yes. But you don't want to have 100% of your links coming from do-follow blog comments..its stupid to do that way. Get more contextual do-follow links and you will rank like a boss

oh come on op. Natural linking depends on other people linking to you from their blog. So are you telling me that it will die just coz of an update? Believe it or not people like to live outside g's ass

Fucking fed up with all this "stop using this type of links, they don't work anymore" blablabla shit. It's ALWAYS the same with mozshit blog posts after a new penguin is released:
"yes, the links that do not work anymore are article directories/comments/sitewide etc"

Thing is that they STILL work and they will always work.

"No no, create good content that attracts links" STFU!

Unless the networks are huge, they ALL leave footprints. The biggest footprint is linking out to the same sites, that one's a bitch to get rid of.

If it can be done organically then it can be done blackhat.

A blog comment on a niche relevant blog will bring both converting traffic and SEO benefits.

While 20000 irrelivant comments on PR N/A sites all using money keywords will tank your site hard.

Everything else lies somewhere in between.

The last updated did target Tumblr blogs though. Some commenters may take that fact and declare all web 2.0 blogs dead, which would be incorrect.

All blog networks leave a footprint, that is your URL and keyword, unless you use unique keyword and URL for every single link.
