fb just toasted matt kruse's page for no good reason... :(
i'm glad i barely use facebook. in fact i closed my "for fun" account 6 months ago.

    --- START:

"I've spent 4 years and countless hours building up a community around my software: my Page had 338,050 Likes, my Support Group had 13,360 members, and my Interest List had 1.47 Million followers. But all of that work was wiped out in an instant when Facebook decided to shut it down without notice.

My software is a free browser extension that fixes and enhances the Facebook user interface, called Social Fixer. It is widely popular and used by over a million people. Since my application is tightly integrated with Facebook, it's only logical that I would use the site to build my community of users, provide support, and make important announcements.

I am trying to make their site better, after all.

(See below for details about how to give your feedback to Facebook about this decision)"

Welcome to the club buddy :)
I lost more then 1m+ fans on different fan pages, All my appeals were denied and the reply was just an auto generated bot message.
They didn't even bother to make a real person reply to my appeals.
Facebook support sucks, just like every other BIG COMPANY support does.
I am sorry for you lose buddy and I hope that you can solve it, even that I didn't succeed.

    Cheers

    P.s
I am sending you a PM regarding a question that I have :)

Edit: Oops I just found that you have blocked your PMs :p lol

I've been following social fixer for a while now.
It's very out of order what FB has done since it doesn't
    even affect their platform.
It even cam as a surprise to me today that you can't pin from facebook.

Guess I got some catching up to do.

Social fixer rocks my facebook is pimped to look like BHW.

I doubt very much his page got nuked out of nowhere. I would be suprised if there hasnt been a bit of discussion behind the scenes.

I know many of the support team well, and I know Matt too - I KNOW they'd all want to thank you for passing this on!!:D
I'm happy to report that The Social Fixer community is functional again - a new information page has been created which now connects to the Social Fixer News list [for notifications on facebook's left-sidebar], and a new support group has been created to replace the one which now only works on mobile; so it's now just a matter of re-gathering the membership.

    From

    Important Updates For SFX Users
"Here's a follow-up blog post where I respond to many of the questions and comments raised in response to my previous post about the Social Fixer Page removal.

NOTE: A new support group is almost ready, to replace the current one that Facebook broke. When it's ready, the "Support Group" option under the wrench menu will take you there automatically. Hope it helps"

I'd post the URLs for the page and group, but being a new member here, I'm not yet allowed.
    A facebook search for

    SFx User Support

should turn up the new group, and a search for

    Important Updates For SFX Users

Should turn up the new news page
[or just click on the button in the left side-bar for those that have it, and on the right you'll see "Featured on this list 920"....but with only ONE listed: Click on that for the actual page - the second one NOT listed is the one facebook destroyed].

That sucks, but I am just wondering, could it be because of this? "Facebook's terms specifically prohibit interference with the way Facebook is rendered to its users"

I'm just asking around, not sure tho.

After reading the article, I think the interview he did with arstechnica(a week beforehand) definitely got him the chop.

Maybe I'm just a dick, but I'm not sure why anyone who builds a business completely on someone else's platform (regardless of whether it "improves" it or not - it's still for his own gain) has the right to complain about it if the platform decides they don't want it anymore - and then publicly moaning about it. It's like those idiots who go to the press when they fuck up and get a big bill from a company. It's not a smart move building your entire business reliant on someone else. Reading the updates it seems like he hasn't learned either - why has he still got everything on Facebook? Surely that would be a big enough warning to build something elsewhere?
