This is a reminder to always check your bank accounts (obviously you should) but it really pisses me off when companies think they can just charge a card that they had on file.

I had bought Ubot almost a year ago and I didn't want it and got a refund. Today I get an email saying "congratulations on your ubot purchase".

I was like WTF is this? I look in by bank account and there was the charge for $438.75.

I know I will get my money back but what if I was careless and didn't notice it? Who gives them the right to charge my account?

They need to destroy of that credit card info immediately!

Regardless if this is a mistake or not but this kind of stuff cannot happen!

Set up payment alerts on your phone, everyime you are charged you will receive a message. That is the easiest way to know whats going on at all times.

In regards of the charge, do not judge them so fast, they must have confused it with a new purchase and they might have not charged the guy who purchased the ubot.

In either case, it is something bad to do, that is undeniable, however, im sure if you contact them they will apologise and refund you the money :)

If you buy stuff online very often and tend to forget tnc's.. have a habit of changing CC number every quarter or so

Yeah, accident or not, that shit is not cool. I sell shit online all the time and none of my stores even have the ability to recharge anyone's credit card because I do not actually have that information since it is encrypted.

Regardless if it was a mistake, this is not cool. Now I have to deal with them to get my money back.

That's where VCC comes handy. Its scary to leave you CC details with them as they have the right to charge you anytime. Even Godaddy does the same and I still have to find a way to remove my CC details from there. Anyways, you could either prefer paypal or VCC(Entropay.com works fine)

I want to make sure there's no confusion here.

Seth Turin Media Inc, owner of the UBot Studio software, does not and has never saved any credit card information. Charging someone's card without their permission is highly illegal, and we wouldn't have stayed in business for 4 years if we were engaged in felonious activity. I'm familiar with the OP's ticket, and we have searched our transaction history thoroughly for any such transaction, and we've found nothing.

We've asked the OP to provide us a copy of the email he received along with any receipts he might have, but we have not heard back from him. Furthermore, we don't have any products that cost $438.75.

I'm not sure what motivation the OP has to say what he's saying, but I assure you, we don't save credit cards, we don't (and are unable to) make unauthorized charges, and we're always glad to give a refund when necessary.

Yeah Seth is right. Only payment processors store credit card info. All you can see as a vendor is the last 4 digits, *** and exp. date. Someone correct me if im wrong.
