Better Search Option, What do you think?

Hi,

So currently when you search something, by default, it is most "Relevance" and brings up many years old threads/posts...so every time you have to change the option to "Most Recent"

I think it is a good idea to make "Most Recent" the default search option.

What do you guys think?

its something they might do on the new bhw forum
if / when its done, but other than that not much need to
change 2 clicks to 1 click with any urgency

One thing that I would like in search options would be that it would be possible to exclude locked/closed threads from search results.

Hmmm... That's one for @Jammie Dodger but I don't think this would happpen, although the best case scenario would be an option for everyone to pick their own defaults. I'll close this for now with that in mind and if any staff want to add anything, they can.

Relevance takes into account the age of the thread and we are constantly tuning that to give more relevance to later threads and balancing it with the other search related relevant items. It is a fine balance so will never get it 100% right but it certainly gives better results than the old search.
