Ok my dad is running vista .

    I have XP.

He had to reformat his vista and it appeared like he has 2 drives one for windows one for his programs . It really looks like 2 separate drives while reformatting.

This puzzles me as I have never seen this before.

He said that every WINDOWS version he has had has been like that. XP included . I have run XP since XP first came out and it has NEVER been that way and he is saying I have no damn clue what I am talking about.

I know about computer and he barely knows how to turn one on.

He ask me to prove it to him yet I can find nothing on it on the internet as it does not exist.

Can someone tell him about this please.

Alot of OEM versions have a pre-set disk configuration (also to handle backups better etc). He probably had Windows installed when he bought the PC and did not install it himself. Normal Windows installations would indeed only go to one disk, but you can change that configuration at any time (you can create partitions during the installation, and you can change the path to Program Files etc later on)

Thanks . It is kinda set up like there are 2 separate drives so reformatting it makes look like there are 2 seperate drives.

However he still says that info is wrong like I said . Even after seeing that. :(
