Best website for updating by the client himself

Ok so i wanna know what would be the best usefull tool to create a site that can easilly be updated with photo's text etc. By the client himself.
i do know some html css, etc. I can do some worpress too but a friend of my wants to update his site himself, what would be good for him? Is wordpress the best option or anyone else over here knows the answer?
