Hi there, i have a few good opportunities to promote webhosts in my line of work, and i think i could make a reasonable about of money with the right aff program without much work. Problem is I'm not quite sure who to go with. I have affiliate accounts with hostgator and thinkhost, but I've heard a number of bad things about both.
The question here is, would Hostgator or Thinkhost be a route to take, or does anyone here have a better webhost affiliate that's actually paying out on time/not banning them for no reason (as im hearing all the time for hostgator). I don't want to lose a ton of money because my company cancels my account :)

    Thanks BHW for everything.

I've had the most luck promoting Dreamhost, and have always been paid my commissions on time and without any problems.
However, because of some recent technical issues they've been having, and because my main niche site is an environmental tech blog, I'm now promoting ThinkHost because of their eco-friendly features (and slightly higher payout). So far the dreamhost links have converted better though.. so I'd probably go with them.

I used to use site5 but they just slashed referral rates from around $85 per sale down to $25. And it was only a month or two ago that they upped their commission only to drop it. If you get more accounts you get higher composition. I've had quite a few buys but the referrals never mature. So I think their skimming off the top in large quantities.

I plan on finding a better referral program now.

While HostGator is a good hosting company, I would not promote them. They are notorious for delaying commissions for several months and have been known to dispute commissions for fraud and/or self sign ups, so you dont get paid at all. I have never heard any thing negative about Lunar Pages or Blue Host.

I've had decent luck wtih HostNine...but payout is only $25 when you first start...they have levels but I havent even looked into how many sales I need for next level as I dont put much effort into promoting hosting.

I like resellerspanel.com. Completely customizable hosting plans. You can set the retail price. All of the features I need for running an online business/internet marketing operation. 2 tier referrals. They have excellent customer support. I use them for all of my web hosting and have only ever had one severe problem or issue with them in over 6 years.

I like eboundhost, its a shareasale merchant. Ive sent them over 30 legit leads over the past year and they paid me for every one of them @ $100 each. I cant believe i lucked out with PPC that long. i didnt even use a landing page. I just outbid everyone else and almost 1 out of every 4 clicks was a conversion.

I prefer Bluehost and HostMonster, both are available through CJ.com and their respective sites. Commision not paid monthly and if they sign up for 2 years or you get paid $90 but it's not residual. Meaning if they sign up for another year, you won't get paid. They pay $65 if you sign up from their website and $90 if you sign up through CJ.
