Guys,

We are creating a CB info product. Its a 5 ebook course in IM. I know its highly competitive. But ebooks are well written and comes with lots of webinars and video on-going support.

I am looking for best launching ideas?
Best ways to attract affiliates to promote this product?

Any help much appreciated.

Best,
Zagger

The first thing is to give them a good percentage, better than the other products if possible. Also provide them with a wide choice of ads they can use to promote your product.

Set up a contest that gives them an ipod, ipad, etc. for top sellers or sertain amount of sales.

Most affiliates are very weary of this, as many do not send any gifts!

Thanks man. We have a grand affiliate page with 10 banner ads of different size, 3 email copies, 10 signature/ppc ad copies and a keyword list. I have also offered to give them 2 original articles each.

IN term of %, its 70%.

What do ya say?

This sounds about right. However, an unknown marketer in the IM niche faces normally the problem to convince the really successful affiliate marketers to promote their product. No matter how good the product/affiliate tools etc. is.

Instead of hoping for a grand launch day, you might want to consider to launch your product quietly first. Then you can do things like...

1. Submitting your affiliate program to as many affiliate directories as possible to get the word out.

2. Instead of promoting your sales page, start HEAVILY promoting your affiliate sign-up page, using ALL the weapons you have (backlinks, article marketing, forum/blog posts, etc.)

This will give you the opportunity to come up with real statistics about conversion rate, refund rate, etc. pretty fast.

And then you can start contacting the big dogs. Because now you are in the position to show them PROOF that it is 'good idea' to promote your product, instead just promising them that your product will sell well;)

Peter2002,

I got two solid ideas from your post-

  1. Focus on the affiliate recruitment process by promoting the affiliate page. This really turns my attention precisely to what's required to rake in eventual sales.
  2. Gathering 'proof' that the product sells and is backable. I m planning to test the squeeze page and sales copy with Adwords optimiser.

Would you say WSO is a good idea to start the process

Selling it first as WSO will work if the members know you already and the sales price is attractive. As someone new to the forum or having a low post count will be an obstacle for a satisfying success.

BTW, make sure that your regular sales page with the higher sales price is online by the time you are posting the WSO.

What are some good places to promote your affiliate program? Is there specific forums or directories that you would recommend above and beyond a basic google search?

Errm. Sorry to mention them. I'd have a punt at Warrior forums. (not least because they rank high for a lot of keywords affiliate might search for)

Sorry (hides)

Scritty

To find JV partners for an official launch, I'd go with
Code:
http://www.jvnotifypro.com

To find affiliates, I'd suggest to use as many directories as you can because to find some sales producing affiliates is really a numbers game.

-throw up a PPC campaign on Clickbank promoting your product launch.
-search google for blogs/websites that are similar to your niche, and contact the web owner asking them to promote your product for you. Make sure you address the web site owner nicely and tell them all the benefits of promoting your product
-announce your launch on as many forums as you can
-make sure you get stats like conversion rates and refund rates before you officially launch your product.

Good luck with your launch!

Lots and lots of promo materials. One thing I hate is finding a good product/site I want to push through CB and finding no advertising materials. While I could create my own, my issue with this is getting a cranky owner who wants to terminate the account.

Also, make sure you have a very open communication system in place to talk to your affiliates. This way, you can creative more custom ads and also have a better chance of pushing your product versus a competitor's product.

Wow guys! Fantastic replies all! Thanks a lot!
I'd keep you updated of how things go. Please subscribe to the thread of you want.
Thanks,
Zagger
