I have an email list from my site from past sales from the last 3 or so years. After a purchase the Paypal email used is saved to my database.

I basically want to just export all the emails and ask them to join a mailing list, I asked aWeber if this is possible and they said no because the buyers did not agree to be solicited.

    Any ideas?

Aweber is strict like that. Mailchimp will allow it but you need to make sure that you don't get a bunch of bounces and their inbox ratio is not the best.

Some of the other services will allow you to import emails as well.

Sendy and mailerlite also allow it.

Yea, but they bought a service from me so it's not quite like it's just flat out spam.

It's fine to email them as long as there is an opt out opportunity for them.

Rock and Roll and repurpose that info.

they bought a service , it doesnot mean they allowed you to send them an email without there consent. And if you still looking to do then you must have OPT out link in the email

Actually he is allowed to email them as long as the opt out is in the email.

I've been doing that for 6 years now.

It's a grey area and by a good amount of mail providers it's allowed because they willingly put their email in. So, it's not exactly unsolicited and it's not exactly solicited so if you provide an "opt-out of future emails" option in your email template, it's totally fine.

Came here to suggest Mailchimp and my man BTB beat me to it.

Yes, of course. An opt-out link will be provided on the initial email I send out.
