I am trying to figure out a good way to track articles that have been syndicated in order to build links to them in order to get them indexed. I know that most of the time a good way to track articles is by using google alerts, but in this case the articles would not be indexed yet, so I would like to figure out a way to know where they are in order to build links to get them indexed.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Take a unique sentence from the article.
    Put it in quotes
Search for it in google - if you get a result then its indexed.

I think he wants to get them indexed. Are you using wordpress? I use my trackbacks for this. I have a traffic site where I post 7 links (that I get via my trackbacks on my money site). I have a plugin that checks every hour to see if the new links have been indexed yet, and if they have it replaces it with the next link in the que.
    Works well.
