Well I decided today would be the day that I get rid of my old textbooks before they release a new version and the value cuts in half.

Considering a mass chunk of the members are college/university students, I figured I'd ask how you guys normally sell your textbooks. I live in a small town right now so I'll have to ship them. I'm thinking Amazon or Ebay. Anyone sold their textbooks online?

use site like bigwords.com to find the best price you can get for a specific book (put in ISBN and they'll give you comparison of all major buyers)
it's easier to just cash up-front rather than going through hassle of selling & fulfilling the order.

if the books are in good condition, you just ship books in prepaid box to company with the highest price --> they check book condition --> send you money via paypal or otherwise.

    textbookexchange.com.au if you're in Australia

The value doesn't half when a new addition comes out, you're more likely to get 10 cents on the dollar for them.

    $2 for a $120 book in barely-opened condition... lol.

if it's a book specific to your school then maybe local classifieds. I know my school has a facebook group to sell things and I sold all my school specific books there. just an idea

Craigslist in any college town, right before the start of term.

Call the College where you bought them from. Sometimes they will resell them at their bookstore for you.
