Hey there BHW. My significant other and I have been working on Chaturbate full time for about six months now. We work about four to six hours a day and make $100-$150 each day. It's good money for us and it definitely pays the bills and allows us to buy the things we want, but I'm trying to find out how I can monetize it further. (Yes, we're 'cam whores', please no snide remarks.)

I estimate that our cam gets viewed by 10,000 to 15,000 people each day that we work. There's no real way to know unless I put a hit counter on my profile page, but a small percentage of viewers are watching from other sites that do not show my bio, so it wouldn't be extremely accurate. Our room has an average of 600 people viewing at any given time. 3,000 - 5,000 when we 'perform.'

I have used ShareCash a little bit. I directed our viewers to our personal website where there is a link to our ShareCash downlad. In the txt file they download is the actual download link for the video. (They get a free 2 minute long video.) The link is inactive so the traffic can't be followed back to our adult related site. Users can just copy and paste it in the URL bar. This hasn't worked too terribly bad. We made about $15/day doing this. I feel, though, like we're going to get caught soon for it being adult related. So I am thinking to go about it a different way.

I've considered giving the video download free in a zip file, but uploading a picture of a funny kitten or something on ShareCash. In the corner of the picture would be a password for the zip file containing the video: I give them the download link for the zip and for the ShareCash cute-kitten pic with the password. I couldn't possibly get caught by kind of laundering it this way.

That being said, I'm looking for other ideas on monetizing this adult traffic. Possibly an affiliate I could work with and promote the link in a notifier in the chat or something. What would you do in my situation with several thousand viewers per day and an unfulfilled income goal?

Bump? Just looking for opinions and ideas! I've signed up with Crak Revenue, but I'm not sure how well the ads are going to convert, especially seeing that they are all PPS and not PPL.

    Hey k.h.,

    Sure thing!

We suggested only a couple of general tips to Jas, since he mentioned doing live shows with his significant other.

Since a vast majority of cam models use Twitter for promotional purposes & to keep their followers informed of when they do live shows -- one idea is to mention the times you're on/planning to broadcast, and then provide an alternative cam (aff link) that they would recommend viewing when they're not on. A fellow model they're a fan of, etc. Basically, a good cam show they can vouch for.

And since we allow direct model-linking with some of our PPL programs, Twitter is the perfect platform to promote this on.

Never underestimate the influence and recommendations of other cam girls and cam couples!

Build a community, create a facebook group, twitter, tumblr, youtube. Have them follow you on as much as possible and kepe them involved. Giveaways, contests etc. etc. Capture leads, and use that to sell them what they need, think dating offers, pick up artist books, sex toys etc. etc.

If you're charging for your live cam views, monetizing other ways will probably be counterproductive. Monetizing live cams would be for people who have free live cams and monetize other ways.

Since you're charging for the service itself, you simply need to gain more exposure/viewers. Find out why people like watching you on cam instead of all the other options they have, and then find a way to get more of those people. Porn sites are all about niches, so find out what people like about you and build a following by advertising to people who like that specific porn niche or fetish.

Guys who watch live cams tend to form an attachment to their chosen model, so you just need more of them and then make them feel appreciated. In this situation, 100 faithful dedicated fans/losers have the potential to get you a big house. Find where these guys look at adult content and advertise to them.

You could "target" different people by performing on 2 cam sites, not only Chaturbate. Have you tried that?

Why promote other offers that will lead to little money? You offer free vids/pics or whatever and have them enter in their email/contact info. Build lists and monetize them with your own content.

We use Chaturbate so there are hundreds of "grays" (freeloaders) at any given moment. Unlike most other sites, Chaturbate allows nudity in open chat, so "blues" (paying members; the guys who make the cam world go 'round) tip for specific things and then the whole room gets to watch. This is beneficial because when we start performing, other blues tip, as well.

What I am really trying to do is monetize my grays. Most of the time a grey will never pay anything. They will never "go blue" and they are worthless. And seeing that about 80% of my viewers are grays, there are a lot of people to be converted into dollar signs.

That being said, seeing that grays have no money usually and never intend to spend any money, I have to find a way to get them to do something for me that generates income. I can run an app that sends a message every x amount of minutes to only gray members and I can put affiliate links in that message or anything, really.

What I have been doing was offering a free download on our actual website. When my viewers go to the site they have to wait for 30 seconds to get the download link. This benefits me by getting traffic to the site and keeping the time on site relatively high, as opposed to them coming straight to the site and clicking straight off. The download is through ShareCash, but is masked so there's no tracing it back to my adult-related site. (Instead, it looks like traffic is coming from a mock site that I created and the file on ShareCash is titled something related to the niche of the mock site. The zip file in encrypted, too, so ShareCash can't see that there is adult content inside.

I am afraid, though, that ShareCash may find a way to catch on. Even if the chances are slim to none because of my cloaking, I don't want to risk losing a big ShareCash paycheck that I am counting on and budgeting with.

And on your last point there, when it comes to couples on cam, people come more for the show than the fraternization aspect. They want to see us get down and, for the most part, no one really ever talks unless they are requesting something.

There is no other site that offers what Chaturbate offers for couples. Chaturbate lets us use apps and bots to control our room, play games, set up raffle tickets, hidden camera shows, etc. If we went to another site our entire income would be based off of private shows instead of tips from games and apps. On Chaturbate, tips are 90% of our income. Private shows are not rare, but uncommon.

Another point to be made is that if we worked on another site, every private would result in a happy ending. And although my significant other is very attractive, there's only so much a man can do! On Chaturbate we play games that allow tippers to win prizes like a free video, bum flash, one minute bj, etc.

Right now we are considering going back to solo shows, though. It's extremely exhausting to work together. So the game plan is to have her work solo while I moderate the chat. This will allow me to place my attention on promoting our videos that we sell and trying to monetize our gray traffic.

The idea of placing ads on the webpage through Crak Revenue or somewhere similar is intriguing, but, unfortunately for any advertiser we may endorse, the traffic we are trying to monetize consists of freeloaders and will most likely not convert. A good PPC program might work out, but I haven't found one.

An idea I have been toying with lately....

If I could find someone who wanted to do a pay-per-view partnership type thing-a-ma-jigger with me, I could easily embed a video into the download page that my viewers go to. The timer on the download would be the length of the autoplayed video. I guess I couldn't guarantee that people would watch the video instead of clicking to a different browser tab for the duration of it, but hey... it's just conceptual.

You could create your own website offering with pics and vids for people to watch, you can add plugrush to that as well if you want. But the main point of the website would be to create an email list regularly giving people extra content etc. Then just send emails with affiliate offers every now and again.

    PPS is pay per sale.
    PPL is pay per lead.

I was concerned about whether or not my traffic would click the ads and actually buy anything.

Being an adult site, you have the right target group for Gambling sites. depending on your main target countries, you can try to sign up with several providers that allow advertising on adult content, and take clients from your main target countries.
People willing to pay for adult content are most of the time willing to pay into casino or poker sites as well.

Closing your sessions with a direct call to action, to click on a certain link, or "please visit our sponsor now to help keep us going" is completely acceptable. And the more you can learn about a program and what they offer, the more you will sound like you are doing them a favor... And the better your results will be.

I would be happy to teach you more about our program... I'm confident your audience is right.

    cheers.

As sassafras said, create your own website where you can charge people as much as you want and get 100% of the money, not 50% or whatever cam sites charge these days. You can also get people to pay for videos or galleries of pictures.

You can take a look at Teagan's website for inspiration: http://tjshouse.ca/

She made a shitload of money when she switched from MFC to her own thing and now she owns several companies.

    Good luck OP.

The idea is good. I've attempted to sell videos from my website already, but Paypal banned me for using their platform for adult related sales.

Furthermore, we have been in the camming game for four months, as of two days ago. Our following is not that huge. We have 16,000 followers on Chaturbate (members who are notified when we come online), she has 700 Twitter followers, and I have 250. I feel that in order to start a site and completely cut out the middle man (Chaturbate), it would require much bigger of a following. Almost a cult following, if I want them to actually subscribe to my content and independent live shows. Also, I'm a noob programmer, so creating a site like this isn't a possibility. (As my budget is small, as well.)

Your chaturbate stats seem amazing! A friend of mine recommended a similar site Cam4 for me to use when I explain my joblessness situation but I dont think I can ever do that!

Since you have a ton of viewers (Im assuming many of them are "loyal" viewers) and obviously they are tipping you well, it might be a good idea to open a membership website, where you and your wife upload new videos, images, etc and charge a flat monthly rate (lets say $20/mo) for access. Even if only a few hundred people sign up (a small fraction of your viewers) you will make back your initial investment (web design/development if needed, maybe an HD camcorder) and hosting fees rather quickly. The more and more people sign up, then the more you can focus on the more profitable membership site and only use the less profitable and more volatile chaturbate account to attract new members towards your site. Hope I helped :)
