You might have heard on the news that online poker is now banned in the US. I have a decent bankroll from poker to start doing IM and want to do it right the first time. I am learning a ton from you guys on this site. I know I have a lot to learn still and am looking forward to the journey.

If you had $50,000 to start, how would you invest it? Buy high traffic sites with flippa? Buy software for SEO? PPC? Offline CPA (direct mail, flyers, tv/radio)?

You'll get a ton of useful answers from which to choose I am sure... do not build your online business using direct mail, flyers, tv/radio etc.

Get 3k / hour hookers (lol)

Seriously now, I'm damn sure in 100 people there will be 100 different ways of spending $50k because everyone has different strategies.

If I were you I would already purchase an established site (for 30k) and use the rest of your money for marketing it.

Another idea would be invest in exact match domains (the good ones which have been registered like 10 years ago). They have a big authority nowadays and you could use the rest of your money to build a product / service for it

If you like gambling and have a large bankroll (which you do) I'd buy a license to some sports arbitrage software and make bets. You could earn a lot of money relatively safely once you get the hang of it.

This isn't recent news, lol, and most people have heard. Or maybe I am just saying this because I played for the cereus (absolute poker and ultimate bet). Good news for you though... internet marketing does not require a bankroll like poker does. You don't need 50k initial investment to make a good ROI. You can start out with almost nothing and profit big if you know what you're doing. Read up! Best of luck to you!

I wouldn't bother buying SEO tools - better to outsource the work if you have that start up capital. There's plenty of good people on here that will create a variety of backlinks and services.

You'd better off investing your time in researching a niche or product but that is the hardest part. Once you've found something you want to go with getting it ranked and traffic flowing to it is the next nightmare. But as I said you can buy that type of work.

Buying an established business on Flippa is an option but do your homework as it's pretty easy to make a site look a lot better than it is and end up paying over the odds for it.

never knew that, so online poker has been totally banned across all over the USA? thats crazy!

anyway if i had 50k i'd buy a well established site on flippa one thats earning good each month, but do some research on the site first, maybe get a broke to help you theres a couple in this site meathead and lukaB, meathead deals with high paying sites so he may be able to help you

Alright, the first idea I had was to hang door flyers for home security CPA in neighbor hoods that had a recent breakin. Any reason no offline?

I'm leaning toward buying a established site. The established exact match domains is a good idea.

Yea Its hard to push a significant amount of money though those sites tho once u get labeled as a sharp bettor. And even harder to withdraw now in the US.

I didn't know if everyone knew, the news is about 2 months old. I am planning on starting small and scaling up. I've been reading a ton and want to take action! good luck to you also.

Outsourcing looks like it is the way to go. Eventually I would like to do SEO for local companies. I figure I have to understand the tools first though. Thanks for the advice about researching niches,

Thanks for the input. Are there any ebooks on buying established sites on flippa? I think spotting undervalued sites on Flippa could have a good ROI.

I would go right after TV advertising market with your own brand or product.

This way you stand out from all competitors and make a lot of money.

Example, those infomercials with "As Seen On TV", some of them make millions of dollars, think Snuggies.

Man this will be the most profitable way...

    Make your own CPA offer.

You got money to apply to Cpa netowrks as an advertiser so get you ass to work and make it big..

Setup everything on autopilot. From Marketing stuff, orders to shipping and after sale marketing. This way you should make a lot more in no time... Probably around 4 mil in 6 months if you research what people want right now.

    ok here is my recomandation.
1)Read BHW for over 2 months believe me there is alot to learn, really lot.
    2)Get Market Samurai
    3)Get Scrapebox
    4)Get BMD/AMR/Xrumer/Minixrumer
5)Spend about 2 weeks resarching alot of different keywords with Market Samurai
6)Get EMDs for low competition keywords you found that have decent traffic(80+ targeted viewers a day)
7)Dont forget to switch Broad search to Exact search on Market Samurai(seems like small thing but it can waste you lot of time if you miss it)
8)Have about 5 low comp keywords and get EMD for them
9)Hire article writers to get your site populated
    10)Do on-page seo,and have a sitemap for easier indexing
11)Make your site/sites get you ROI of 1000% and then outsource like CrazyMAN

i would develop really good sites in niches-not micro niches because you would have to build a ton of sites! i wuld not buy from flippa because its too high priced. make sure you focus on seo like a mad man!

Buy some high pr domains and rent links out. Simple as pie :D

Just take all the precautions to make no footprints. I am sure Mr.E could give you some pointers on it. I don't want to volunteer him though.

I think I would buy established sites already making money and receiving tons of traffic.

Just make sure you verify (traffic, revenue) before going all out.

Go on Flippa and keep an eye on original startups being sold. Something that makes a bit of money. Contact the seller and ask how he is promoting it and so on. Then head to freelancer.com and hire a trusted team to create a better project. Launch it, promote it, flip it. Or keep it for long term money.

    As said above by Gundamwing.

Put some of that money into Physical silver and gold.

Then with the rest get an established site or even setup a small offline business doing something :)

    Good luck !

I'd advise outsourcing. Instead of wasting your money, taking all the time and ending up doing it inefficiently, hire people who are non-overpricing experts in the field. Save 1/2-3/4 of the 50,000 for the first trial. If it fails, do somethin' else lucrative or modify stratagem, if not, invest more.

....Or you could give me some of the money too! XD Kidding! You could hire me for advertising, I'd do perfect!
