One of the most underutilized ways to quickly improve CTR with a proven approach is to leverage PPC. Identify a keyword that has a low CTR but you rank high enough for and create a paid search ad for it.

You can adjust your title more attractive or build curiosity to increase the CTR, you have rank your site really well, just A/B test the title and see how was the CTR perform

what kind of site? what do you offer? do you have a call to action above the fold on homepage? this CTA was the secret sauce for me to improve my CTR. make sure that you are not changing the sub-domains for CTA.

The site is in the gaming niche, the title has the keyword in it + in the meta description. I have no call to actions, but could probably work on one.

Has anyone noticed if featured snippets help/make things worse? My site is in a table format so on a lot of my keywords I'm ranking with featured snippets. I just wonder if it is possible that is having a more negative affect.

Here's what I'm doing in order to get a 7 to 8% CTR:

Let's say I'm writing about how to make my dog happy, and my target keyword is how can I make my dog happier

First, put the target keyword in the slug, add nothing else, so my site is like www.dogsite.com/how-can-i-make-my-dog-happier/

Then, I would put the target keyword as the H1 & Title, and arrange it a little bit to make it catchy:

How can I make my Dog Happier ? (Quick Read)

So It would look like this:
zuHQmni

And not like this:
