I have several different shopping-related niches that I will be covering for my new project.

My question is, is it smarter to do a separate site for each niche (fairly broad niches, not micro) or do one big authority site which covers all of the niches divided into different categories?

I am definitely the go big or go home type, so I prefer to do one big site as opposed to several smaller ones. However, I don't want to let my personal preference get in the way of maximizing my success, so which one should I do? There's a lot of knowledgeable people on this forum and I know lots of you have dealt with this type of issue before. Thanks in advance for taking the time to reply to my thread.

I would go with Authority site which supports all the brands. People tend to visit website for 1 thing then shop by with another ones.

well, if you have a real long-term target then go big online store could be better, if you're chasing fast money, then small niche store could be a better solution.

This isn't the quickest way to success, but it's the quickest way
to get a site up that does everything you mentioned.

Check out ProStores and or Store Coach

They both have EXCELLENT support and their
systems make it pretty easy to get going fast.

    good luck

Thinking big will allow you to have bigger opportunities and bigger returns. You can go with a macro authority site and divide it into categories or sub categories. Make sure that your site is easy to navigate with narrowing options, fast load time, putting the most detailed product descriptions and costs, include delivery options (if applicable) etc for great user experience.

If you're strictly focusing on the online space, then it might be a good idea to diversify and have separate sites made. But if you plan on reaching a broader audience such as the offiline, brick-n-morter areas, then focus all your energy on one site to establish yourself.
