Best way to get rid of virus on website

    Hello,
    one of my websites has a virus and it says from google
    "This site may harm your computer"
    I have about 15 gigs of ebooks on the website as it is a membership site.
    I do not want to start over,any help would be greatly appreciated.

    search for any included unwatned .cgi's in source :)

    scan it using clam av

    it should be included in ur cpanel

    look for malicious iframe codes in the coding , remove them and change the ftp username and password

    check your logs and also for any date changes of your files/folders

    look at the source code - its more likely non of your ebooks but something on your front page...

    Easiest way is to look at file dates. Hackers hit a site all in one go. All changed files will have the same date. Makes it much easier than scanning thousands of files. You can look at folder dates and it will show you the date of the most recent change. Typically a hack job is just 6-10 files. Once you find one altered file just look for files with the same date stamp.
