    Greetings, here is the situ...

Unfortunately my girlfriend got a DUI a couple weeks ago. Suddenly, someone who had little online presence now has 3 slightly different sized pictures of her mugshot at the top of google image search results from competing (or same folks possibly) mugshot websites, all displaying 1300-1400 hits each. My plan is to bury those mugshot photos as far down in results as I can to prevent her future employers (she's currently trying to find full time work as a dental hygienist, dental field is VERY sensitive of negative info) from discovering them when doing a general name search.

So the question would be, what would the best way to go about accomplishing this? Im currently using General Lee's traffic generator and testing hits with a blogger account I created for her, placing her name in alt text for posted photos. Seems actual page count in the blogger stats view is showing only 10% of the purported hits in the traffic generator program so Im not sure what Im doing wrong there.

So to recap, fastest method to get images to appear in google image results to bury negative images from the mugshot sites is what Im looking for. Thanks so much in advance!!

    Stateofstatic,

My advice would be to create a positive web presence for her and add content like crazy. Create professional profiles on LinkedIn, Twitter, Google Plus, Facebook, MySpace, Pinterest, a Blogger blog, a Tumblr blog, and anything else you can think of. Add content on a daily basis, perhaps about her profession or her life goals or whatever. Add images with her name as the file name. As long as they are images of her add her name into the alt attribute of those images. Create an About.me profile for her and link all the other accounts to that. The basic idea here is to dominate the first page of results in both organic links and images so that you can push those other results down. It will be a lot of work but I have seen people do this. Drown out the negative with the positive.

A slightly more dirty tactic (and in most cases I would not recommend this however in this case it seems this person has been unjustly targeted), you could create some spam sites that blatantly violate as many of Google's policies as you can and redirect them to the URL's that those negative images of your girlfriend are on. Create tons of external properties on spammy article sharing sites all using the same anchor text back to those image URL's. If you do that fast enough Google will penalize those images because it will appear that someone is trying to get them to rank better but leaving a footprint. This method would cost you some money because you would have to buy hosting and domain names. Make sure they are not associated with any other hosting or website that you have up and running.

Maybe this post could also give you some ideas,

    http://www.melissaagnes.com/online-...-dealing-with-negative-search-engine-results/

It's targeted at businesses but you could apply the same principles to an individual.

If you take any of this advice I would try my first options. Those should do the trick.

    Shawn

I have setup 20+ pages all the while cross-linking for her so far...what about using a fake hit generator directed to the specific mugshot site URLs and bombing the hell out of them so it drops the image rank? Wouldn't that basically invalidate the previous artificial hits that got the images so high in the first place?

Attempted that route first cgi, unfortunately because they are scraping images from sites that are public record (city/county databases) google won't do anything about it. It's insidious...a company will make 4-5 different domains, generate fake hits to bump images to the top, then offer "Mugshot Removal" services for $199-399 depending on the site. From reading others unfortunate horror stories, they pay for removal on one of the sites in question, only to have the image pop up a couple days later on another site (same owner as first site) requiring them to pay out again, and again, and again....

Anyone have some bullet points to hit both fronts? (positive SEO + intentionally aggressive fake hitting mugshot site urls to get their indexes removed)

no ideas? Current process in place is lots of social media and blog accounts setup, unique pictures uploaded to each, alt text with her full name and name in titles, .jpg, comments, etc. Then loading those into URL list for General Lee's Intelligent Traffic tool, updating anon proxy lists every 6hrs, 60 sec on first page, 30 sec on 2nd page. Do I need to setup a referral.txt list to make the hits seem more authentic? Anything Im doing with this method that won't make it effective? Please help gang, gf is LITERALLY SUICIDAL (her brother AND her mom's sis have killed themselves so it runs in the family, freaking out) about the prospect of this ending her professional career. Im need to be able to reassure her that it will improve or I might just have to get her admitted to a hospital...I don't know what to do, $#*!

What happens when someone searches for her name? If this site shows up that search, she has bigger problems.

Either way, you have got to create a massive online presence for her, do not forget photo sharing sites like flickrr.

Also see if she can use her name differently when she creates this online presence. If the blackmail site has her first, middle , and last names, have her not use her middle name on these sites. Vice versa, it may be time to start using all three names.

Put her picture on every social media suite you can.

Google images get ranked starting with strong on-page indicators, but after a while its all about what pictures actually get clicked on. If I were you I'd stick up dozens of pictures optimized for your girlfriend, have them be sexy pictures of other girls.

That way, they'll initially get boosted from the on-page SEO, and then after that its all about what people click on when they search for your GF's name in Google images.

Its highly likely that no one ever searches for your GF's name in Google images except for you two ... so you might have to help that along and search for her name through different proxies in images and click on the other sexy girls each time you do. Whatever you do, never click on the image of your GF in the images (that will only make it rank higher).

BTW, the reason you use sexy girl pics is because they actually WILL get clicked on if anyone ever searches for your GF's name. Normal images wouldn't get clicked on, therefore they wouldn't start ranking better.

should I add additional tags like "sexy" to get results to show even when not searching her name specifically? Also, would tagging as "Jane" and "Doe" be better than tagging the complete name like "Jane Doe"??

I am also a newbie and the issue with images is very tough to solve. The advice from others - pinterest, flckr (google likes this site), picassa, wordpress, etc will all eventually get urls ranked but my experience has been that they don't seem to move the needle on google image results. I am working with someone on an issue and the negative google images (only 4 of them) outrank over 100 other photos on the web. I know this doesn't really help, but good luck. Let us know if you have any success.

Yeah that is my experience so far as well...I can get images ranked up to the first page from blogger (name in alt text, name in .jpg, name in description and Title, name in comments) but they still won't rank higher than the mugshots in the 1, 2, 3rd positions. My next attempt is to hit the pages with the images on them with non-masked fake hits 24/7 and see what it does to them over the next 3-5 days. Where's anonymous when I need them? :)

    stateofstatic,

Really your best bet is going to be overwhelming the negative with the positive. Unless someone is out there actively making these images rank, you will eventually push them down. Think if it as food coloring in water. If you only have a glass of water with a drop of green food coloring, the water will be green. If you add that water to a bucket, it will be far less green. Add that bucket to a barrel and you won't even know there was green food coloring in there. Just keep up the work and you should see results. I hope it works out for you and your girlfriend.

I've done this for a few clients in rep management. Generally the best way to do it is lots of positive results. Get some domains like hername.com, hernamecity.com herfirstmiddlelastname.com, and social profiles like linked in, Facebook, twitter, klout, about.me, etc and then build hundreds of links a day to them and you will be good after 2-6 mo

ugh I hate giving away some tips sometimes but it sounds like you need the help and I dont think I want to try to sell you on my rep. man services.

It's all about associated text and quality pages. Pay or post on reputable sites that are already out there and have new photos posted with her name right next to the photo.

Ever thought about press releases as well?

The way a lot of these websites are aggregating/accessing/displaying public data and then charging for removal is getting ridiculous. I feel your pain in this situation.

The advice in this thread is really good. Go "all out" with personal reputation management and leverage anything and everything you can. Example: Content and media can be used in MANY diffferent ways for ORM in these types of scenarios.

Check out the strategies/types of websites and media you can leverage mentioned in "Step 3" of the following guide (lists some good image sites you can leverage):

A Basic Guide To Online Reputation Management

In specific situations, Google WILL actually remove search results for you, similar stuff discussed here:

What To Do When Your Personal Information Becomes Publicly Available Online

If you DO get certain pages removed through various means, always ensure that the cached page is removed from Google as well:

Request removal of a cached page

This. Listen to this one OP. Also creare a Google plus profile and add lots of pictures and albums. Make the profile public. Google will start ranking them in no time. Use the name as seen on the negative search. The more content you add the more they become relevant and less the negative stuff. Its not a easy job but you have to spend some time on this or find someone to do it. (pay)

also, invest in like 10-20 fiver gigs for like giant blasts of the website. make it one of your social sites that have no risk of being sandboxed. so you could try a twitter or tumblr, and get a ton of direct SB and Xrummer to those links. You really have nothing to lose and overtime, even shit back links to social stuff should work. I am surprised no one else mentioned video SEO either. You can post a youtube video mentioning something positive or just something completely unrelated. You only need to make sure the description, title, etc all contain her name. MSG for other ideas...
