    Hey,

    Thought I'd share this.

We've been using Highwinds as a Usenet provider. Of course no usenet provider has 100% completion %.

This is a test we did on all NZB parts/articles that were missing on Highwinds (got error 430 - article unavailable).

So we decided to test other providers to see if they are able to fetch the same articles that were not available through Highwinds.

    Here are the results.

Astraweb is still by far the best Usenet provider. I've noticed this from personal use over the years as well.

    Usenet provider Net Improvement
    Astraweb 73%
    Tweaknews 14%
    xsnews/4ux.nl 0%
    xsnews/GebruikHet 0%
    readnews/usenetmonster 0%
    readnews/blocknews 5%
    xentech/budgetnews 50%
    xentech/hitnews 14%
    xentech/xennews 14%
    euroaccess/123usenet 0%
    euroaccess/mijnusenet 0%
    giganews 0%
    altopia 0%

The full list of resellers/providers tested is longer, but the rest are pretty much zeros. I just can't find the email with the full list.

    Yes. Yes you are.

With my home connection I can download ANYTHING at like 8MB/s. The biggest advantage is speed. And almost everything gets posted to Usenet first.

Hmmm. not sure how you get 12 with torrents. I've never been able to beat Usenet speed with torrents.

Usenet can go much much faster, i just can't justify spending more for home internet.
