I'm currently undertaking a project to create a website for selling vintage audio equipment. I dont think this is going to be an eCommerce type solutiont i don't in the sense that there won't be many items for sale (Definitely not over 100 at the same time), and they are all unique.
What i was thinking was : Have a private administrator panel where i could login, and create new items for sale (A la Ebay) where i'd put in the description, price, pictures, etc and it would add that particular item to the DB and list it on the sales page, along with possibly a Paypal "buy now" button populated with the correct info and price (Sales page example:http://audiooasisstore.squarespace.com/).
I would also want prospective buyers to be able to leave messages in regards to the item via contact form. Once the buyer makes a purchase, that particular item will be removed from the active listings and stored somewhere in an archive which can be viewed anytime from the administrator panel. I should also obviously be able to edit listings and remove them as i see fit.
The general idea is to slowly move away from ebay and their ridiculous fee's and start your own store type of thing.
I'm a total newb when it comes to this sort of stuff, this is just my initial plan of attack.... Any suggestions?
