Maybe you guys can save me a little time trying to figure out what kind of offers convert best for my situation.

I run a humor blog. It get 2k hits a day, mostly from stumbleupon. People are there to see the funny pictures.

So what kind of offers should I have in my banner ads? I would think that zwinkies and ringtones would convert alright, but I'm having no luck. I've even tried the free macbook air ad for the hell of it.

Oh, and for a short while I had webc@ms.com ads on there, too... just watering down the conversion rate, really. I'm tempted to throw in some aff banners as well- maybe post some sexy pics once in a while to mix things up.

I know that these social media surfers are already pretty well ad-blind or using ad blocking software, so it's an uphill battle, but I'd be happy if I could pull a few bucks a day from this traffic.

I used to run a flash arcade. Which in my mind is pretty much the same traffic. Used to live off stumbleupon and at times digg. Tbh everyone using stumbleupon is ad blind and you will be lucky to get a click. I wouldnt bother with CPA offers if i was you, i would skip straight to CPM banners or something, so that when you get the massive surge of stumbleupon traffic, you get atleast a few pennys to go along with it.

The problem is that the big CPM companies won't accept my site due to content... I forgot to mention that... I'd be happy as a clam if I could get $1 CPM.

I'm currently running bidvertiser along with one CPA banner, which I'm rotating to find what works, if anything will work... as you said, they're ad blind. I do get the occasional click, but it's absurdly low. I make something like 0.10 cpm from the clicks, which is beyond pathetic.

To add insult to injury, those bastards will open a pic that they like into a separate window and stumble that- so that none of my site shows, just the pic. I found this out by accident, and now I post images in batches so that they're less likely to pull this stunt. I'm sure there's a way to make it so that they can't do this in wordpress.

Beef up your traffic and sell the ad space for monthly revenue. Get it up high enough and you should be able to net ~$1,000 or so a month if you shop it around enough.

Then go concentrate on sites that you can make money with :)

Wow, this advice is quite good IMHO...

My advice is to use dating CPA offers (not adult stuff) since most of the visitors who come to your blog would likely be a loner... We all know that good guys finish last when it comes to dating... and... good guys tend to visit humor sites...

    Regards

With many other types of traffic, I may be inclined to agree with dating. But StumbleUpon traffic is notoriously ad-blind (as discussed earlier in the thread) and it just wont convert worth a damn.
