    Hi there,

I've recently launched a few new TV steaming sites (individual sites for shows) in the last few days and was hoping for some advice on the best strategy to monetize them in the long run... At the moment I have all content locked with a pay-per-install toolbar (pays $0.75 a signup if from US/Canada/UK and doesn't work on Macs) and haven't had any conversions at all, which perhaps isn't surprising given the low number of visitors, but I'm just not sure if this is the best strategy....

I know I can build traffic to a lot more with some SEO work and hope to be on page 1 for my main keywords within a couple of weeks, but do you think I should remove the content locker at the start?

Also can you recommend any better ways to monetize them? I'm with Pinball at the moment and the $0.75 seems a bit low especially since it goes right down if not from the 3 countries above, and doesn't show up at all if you're using a Mac!

    Thanks :)

I would suggest getting someone at freelancer.com to SEO your site for some good keywords if you cannot do it yourself. You should see lots more traffic which will result in increased number of conversions. Set your budget for $250. Thats if they do EVERYTHING, including keyword research. But tbh, you could prob get it done much cheaper on this forum.

what wordpress theme are you using?

with the tv sites I had, the episodes all had their own page with the content locker on it. But these pages (episodes) would not get indexed by google. Google only indexed the main index.html page.

try going through dollarade, blamads or leadbolt which offer content lockers that have surveys for all countries

Scarlett. Well I've only just added in the content locker so the pages are all indexed at the moment.. I really hope they stay indexed because although I'm not ranking for any of my main keywords I've had 70+ hits from Google today alone for people searching for exact episodes...

But not a single one has converted?! Is that normal?

you must be build the content , this means u must first make the visitor sure he will find what he look for , remove the LOCKER now , and make the site free from this lockers ,

then build good trusted website , if it has UNique and Good content , u'll get visitors , then try to promote it with any kind of ads .

another way . you can make the site without locker when visitor come , then after 10 mins try to find way to make the locker appears this will help to make the visitor first find and watch for some times then he will install toolbar to continue watching

i dont like locking content much. but if you want to the advice above is good. build traffic first then start to lock some of the content. monitize with ads.
