Kind of a noob question, but I am very new to setting up websites, and need some ideas. What kind of program would you guys recommend for setting up simple websites, for local traffic? I'll be doing it in such a way to rank for (for example) london cosmetic surgery, london breast implants, london teeth whitening, etc,etc. I have had suggestions of things like Autoblog Blueprint, EZ Empire Builder, and I get that ranking high on google is not going to magically drive traffic to the site, but I am still stuck, as I have zero web design experience, and don't even know where to start with regards to what kinda domains to buy, templates, etc.

ok cool, but say I wanted to target multiple keywords for one business, like london breast implants, london rhinoplasty, etc I would really need to get separate domains for each keyword to get the best effect? Perhaps redirecting them all to the same website would be acceptable?

Well it depends are you looking to build a directory type site or rank each website for each keyword individually?
If you are doing everything on one site then use separate pages, but if you are doing 1 client per site I would do a new domain
for each niche.
Separate pages for example:
yourdomain.com/breast-implants
yourdomain.com/rhinoplasty
Then when you get into doing your off-site seo just build your links with the appropriate anchor text and that way your page/url will rank for the keyword you are targeting.
In regards to what to build your website with use wordpress! There are so many themes you can get that are great for this type of thing just head over to themeforest to check them out, and like kez1000 mentioned make sure to buy .co.uk extension.
In your content, article, header tags, make sure you have some mentioning of your keywords of london breast implants or london rhinoplasty. Just get the wordpress plugin all in one seo this sorts out all of the things you are trying to target.

Yes, through the use of subdomains you can have one main domain say london rhi----.co.uk and you can add the other keywords in. so:
breast implants.londonrhi---.co.uk
etc, etc. Then you simply add your articles, do a few on each separate subdomain you want to rank, and then backlink, even call up/email competitors and see about some sort of link swapping.
