Best Strategies To Negotiations with vendors

Be prepared to follow up alot. Whether you are a buyer or a seller, keep following up. Eventually if you persist enough, they will buy or drop their rates. Everyone has times when they need something NOW and if you send enough messages, your luck witll increase. Eventually you'll send an email the same day they wake up despearate to do a deal

Thanks mate for your words of experience and wisdom. It can be summed up as in one word in my humble opinion and that is, "Perseverance". Right! . But other than that, one fundamental issue is, opening up the negotiations on seemingly unrealistic high prices from their side especially when their site metrics are just ok or little better but not outstanding. Such as demanding $200+ which is absolutely absurd and non-realistic. I hope to get some insight from you on this matter too.

There are loads of ways to play it and I'm here to help sir.

They open with high prices because very often people pay them. Once you have an enormous cashflow surplus, most people get lazy and just want an incoming flood of links. Once people pass the $10,000 monthly bar they get comfortable and lazy. Like a man who has an amazing girlfriend, he loses his killer instinct

Personally I would start by asking if they offer a bulk rate discount (if they're a bit high) or you can say something like

"Thank you for your honesty. Regrettably those rates are a bit out of my budget. Please come back to me in future if anything changes and you can help me"

^ most of the time the same pushy aggressive types who ask way to much as a first bid will then reply with "What is your budget?" (hint : do not answer this question directly lol). Once they ask what your budget is they're ready to move.

The other half the time, they'll reply polite or ignore you. At which point, most of the time they'll follow up 3 weeks later with a slighltly better deal.

Once they drop the price even $1, then the price is negotiable. Once they drop it by any amount, now the game has started

Your "girlfriend analogy" is spot on and I too believe so. Of course, after having settled down with enough influx of money those vendors do get easy and know that people will pay and fortunately/unfortunately people do pay which is what makes a huge difference amongst all the virtual marketplaces. Such as Asian, gulf, European, US, Australia and others and their outright stubbornness and sometimes refusal pisses me off as well. I do use those cheesy words and analogies too in my responses but unfortunately, sometimes they are not qualified enough to understand it :(. But that's the only way and I absolutely loved your strategy to inform the vendor that I, as a reseller, should be updated once they change or make up their mind. I will definitely apply this strategy from now on. The main point is, get them going and bring to negotiations and once they come back , the games begins. I loved your advice and will follow accordingly.

You are most welcome. Feel free to hit me up anytime if you need some help, advice or mentorship. I'm an old hand at this game

You will get alot of stubbornness and aggression with alot of subleties and nuance in it. Some of the worst vendors I've dealt with were selling junk highly overpriced. I once had a vendor threaten me for daring to ask him to fix a mistake. Equally you'll also sometimes meet naive people who don't understand the value of what they are dealing with. In general, if you want to know if someone is ripping you off or not, try and exchange a few messages and have a short conversation. When someone is truly cruel/evil/a scammer, they can only hold up the mask so long. There will be little cracks and the longer you talk to them, the exponentially more mistakes they will make. Hence most scammers (well the smart ones) try and close the sale extremely fast. Just because someone moves fast doesn't mean they are a scammer but you'll notice rarely will a scammer move too slowly

You truly sound and old veteran and of course you are. Your words are gold to me honestly. Am not being impatient but rather like to observe first and then maneuver accordingly and smartly. And here comes another small query if you dont mind me asking. Will the vendor agree to make any update/change in the already done guest post? Am asking this because in my humble opinion the vendor does not usually agree or one can say the guest post publishing is a one-time process and must be repeated by paying the agreed price if needed. Am I right?

Correct - once it is live you technically have no grounds for recourse. However, in reality, all online marketing has an underlying base of trust. Hence forums like this one are so valuable. It is like a real life bribe - reputation, trust and respect are more important than the facts in the case. Once you send someone money online, you can't get it back and they can delete your post immediately or not even put it up. It is all based on relationships between people

Hence you want to develop connections with reliable, trustworhty people you know well. Then use them over and over, even if you pay more. Hence the big guys care less about the link prices and will pay higher rates. They're more concerned with building leads they can quickly call on for 100X orders at random because they need it for some reason. You only have about four hours maximum of intelligent work per day and that is if you optimise everything (wear same clothes like Zuckerburg). I know people will say "that's not true" but unless you're under age 25 or a psycopath, it probably is. After about 4 hours you are no longer fuctioning at best until sleep. If Jeff Bezos only makes 3 decisions in 4 hours a day, how may do you think you can make well? Hence once you have momentum, it's more important to have efficent, repeatable connections than the best prices. Because you won't have time/energy to do lots of negotiations once you start making real money and have many large sites to manage.

If you have good relationships with guys you use, they will usually let you make changes to existing posts for free. A good vendor will give a certain, reasonable amount of free customer service and edits to his regulars to keep the deals sweet. This is an unwritten rule of dealing with high level clients. Burkin don't charge for alterations on handbag. When the King of England has protestors smash up his car, Rolls Royce gave him a new one immediately for free. Now if you're paying $5/link, you won't get anything for free as it's not worht their time responding to your email let alone helping you out. What you get is partly down to what you pay but mostly down to who you work with. Hence the importance of keeping a great reputation and not being a scrooge. Like attracts like - play fair and you'll attract fair players

That's very well narrated yet again. In a nutshell, establishment of trust and fairness and making trustworthy relationships are the keys. Got it and will mind it all in the future communications with vendors. Thanks mate so far for all your time and great words of experience and wisdom. I cordially appreciate your words and sincerity to address my concerns. Have a lovey day and cheers.

Successful negotiations with vendors require preparation, clear communication, and a willingness to be flexible and creative in finding solutions that benefit both parties.

True and all these are pre-requisites but what if the vendor is unwilling to negotiate on the price that we propose despite the fact he is demanding over too much for his crappy website.

We can not do anything but only request to decrease the price.
I also guess so. Anyways, thanks for taking interest and responding. Appreciated mate.

Its bit odd to contacting you again this way but I have absolutely no idea as to how to tag a particular forum member in my thread. Anyways, am directly putting up this question "
What is the significance of google index in guest blog posting and what is the optimal figure to even consider a website for outreaching?
"
