best site to look for apartments / houses 4 rent?

    im moving out to california next year and i need a solid website to search through realtor listings for apartments and houses for rent. anyone know of a good site?

    Craigslist always has a lot of houses to look at and you can speak directly to the landlords most of the time

    I 2nd craigslist, esp for California 'cause "everyone" uses Craigslist for rentals in Cali. What area are you moving to?

    San Marcos....its an expensive area cant find a 2BR for less than $1000 :(

    I had a damn small studio apt in SF a few years back for $1300/mo. i swear, cali is like another planet compared to the rest of the US in that regard.

    you'll be fairly close to the beaches so definitely make it into mexico at some point during your stay... cl will be your best resource for sure.
