I have done 2 autoblogs, which got a penalty from google. Both had about 1500 posts from the begining. They grew fine and got indexed well. After about 1 month google did cut down the search visitors to 0 . Befor eI do the next 1000 autoblogs I want to know what is the best strategie to get enougth posts and to no be punished by google(but going to the limit. Not scarry:eek::eek:). That blogs were all made of Y-a-h-o-o answers and i did publish about 30 posts a day. Which may be the reason for penalty. I want to programm 1 or two plugins so I would like to have some advice how to avoid google penalty and going to the limit. Could it be a dub content penalty? Are there many guys here who suffered dub content penalty?

maybe your problem was u had 1500 posts to begin with and then posting 30 posts per day all at the same time...doesnt look natural at all. did your blog get deindexed or did u get filtered?

Must be filtered. All keyword rankings lost extremly position. I thought, when I beginn with 2000 posts google cant see it. But how to do it. If I beginn with 100 post and then only do publish 3 or 5 a day , it could take years to get indexed with many sites. I saw autoblogs with 100000 indexed pages. So these blogs must have been set up when Jesus lived:D:D. Thanks for you answer. Still need advice how to start smart.

the point of having an autoblog is so you can have many autoblogs all working to get your sites index little by little. You do not want to start one with thousands of posts hoping they get indexed.. it takes time. You can post 30 posts per day but I wouldn't post them all at once and definitely not at the same time everyday. I think there was a video done by Matt Cutts and he stated that starting a site with thousands of pages is NOT a good idea when it comes to Google especially if you lack backlinks and authority. I am actually testing a custom plugin that basically grabs posts and publishes them little by little so it seems natural. You may need to just drip your 2000+ posts little by little but scale it to 30 or 40 blogs. Just think about having 30 autoblogs each posting 10 posts per day. Thats 300 pages per day that are potentially getting indexed.

30 posts is a lot per day, i'd cap at anywhere between 7-10 or so...in the very least, half of what you are doing. when you initially set it up, sure you can set it up with a lot of posts [postdating backwards of course], but on a daily posting basis, 30 is far too much mate.

Well I think that google check a lot of factors before banning you. So num of posts per day by itself it;s not a reason for deindexing your blogs.
I know a blogspot blog (not autoblog) in which there are posted ~100 posts daily and it is ranked #2940 right now!!!

Maybe they check if you only have duplicated content?

Yeah, if you are autoblogging duplicate content is the big problem. But 30 posts a day is way too much anyway.

Think it through like it was a real blog. How many people are going to post that much every day? Most people post only a couple times a week, many post daily, some a couple times a day--but over 200 posts a week is easy to detect and is a big red flag.

You don't want live Google people checking your blog out. And live people check it when you get flagged by automated systems for things that make you seem like an autoblog. So cut the posts down to a reasonable level (3 to 5 a day maybe), and change the frequency of posting every once in a while. Try to make it look real.

Thanks for all the answers!! OK I see (and saw) 30 posts a day might be too much. Would it be ok to have 10 subdomains and post 3 a day?(SAme ip)
I did a plugin that can grab 1000 posts from y-a.. answers in a few minutes, with original timestamp.
Then I worked a bit on tagging and made a plugin that publishes 20 Posts a day randomly if they were not already indexed. Is it really not safely possible to beginn with 2000 posts, as google can not see them from the beginning but can start eating them.
There are many sites made from ya-- answers. They have even a rest api to spread the content to other sites. Could the dub content here really can be a problem? Then all The Sites using apis(Amazon,Youtube..) should suffer from dub content. Are there many people here who got penalty because of dub content?

Honestly, I stick with 1 or 2 posts per day per autoblog and my theory is it isn't just Google you have to avoid pissing off with lots of daily postings, but also the ping services your blog is hitting with each post.

Stay under the radar, and instead of 1 autoblog making 30 daily posts, have 15 or 20 autoblogs making 1 or 2 daily posts each.

Also, unless you purchased an aged domain for an autoblog, don't start it with more than about a dozen posts. Google isn't dumb and their bots look for un-natural page and link building patterns. If a brand new domain suddenly has thousands of pages on it that's going to raise a red flag because it isn't natural, which could lead to a human review of the site. Start small, let the posts/pages/links build slowly--this is what looks natural and keeps your site from unwanted scrutiny.

The other thing I've found is with autoblogs it really does help to pull your content from multiple sources. If every posting is just a repost from the same source, that seems to get noticed and leads to deindexing or supplemental indexing in my experience.

You say you want to create your own plugins, then my suggestion is find a couple of content sources and have your plugin(s) rotate where your posts come from. i.e.: first post from Y! Answers, next post from YouTube, next post from Somewhere else and so on.

Or (and I do this) pull content from multiple sources and mash them up into each post, so with every posting a little comes from Y! Answers, a little from YouTube, a little from news sites/article sites and etc...

I've been using autoblogs for a long time and my setup that works is just what I've described: no more than 1 or 2 daily posts per blog and use mashup content in each posting.

I don't do any link building really, other than a plugin that auto-submits new posts to random social bookmarking sites, and all of my autoblogs are indexed (none have been deindexed on me) and most have some page rank too. But most important, they rank in SERPs for long tails and bring me traffic.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/members/8837-scb335.html for your detailed answer. This seems to be the very carefull way. Still wonder if I can begin with many posts as google cant see that so easy. It has to crawl all the posts first. right?
Mixing content in one post was something I was planing. As I like the content to be valuable for visitors I thought an ya-- answer plus related answer from other big answering machine plus 3? google results relating from the third biggest answering machine. (There I would only have the snippet as content)
Is it a good idea or not worth the work? What about building 10 subdomains and post 3 from each? Doesn't it get into the spotlight as they have the same iP? It really hurts me to think of only 2 posts a day and how long it takes to get indexed many sites this way. Is threre someone who did it the risky way and put much Content in the face of google and had effort? :prof01:

For my first Autoblog I started with 30 posts, and then 2 posts /day.

Google first indexed the home page, then slowly indexed the 30 initial posts, and the new ones at the same time. It took like 10 days for the initial 30 posts to be all indexed.

But with 100+ initial posts I dont know how it will go though ..

    Thanks for the answer Insider!
My first blog had about 2000 post from start up and then after about 3 weeks about 400 sites were indexed. With out backlink building except 4 bookmarkservices 1 link. After 5 weeks it had 200 organic visits a day.
I was happy at that time and my whole mind was infected by dreams of million of autoblogs. But then big google penalty kicked me and I only had 20 not organic visits a day. 1 week later a similar blog with 200 visits on the same hosting experienced the same destiny. My happyness has gone!:(
Any one else had similar problems with penalty of God?(Maybe my english is awfull, could be its only bad . I am sorry for that)

    Hello Moxer,
not deindexed, only hidden and tortured:D(Joke). All keywords lost ranking dramaticly! No I did not only use one. Beside my own ya-answers ,wp-amazon,wp-video!
    Thx for your answer Iglo.
Did you start with many posts? Did you decent publishing?
At this time the hammer in my head says publishing too many or may be dub content. Then the driller sometimes says: The first had the name ebay in it, may be it has something to do with the domain name! So I want to get closer to the answer before new better blogs:cool:

@fame13, I think you've answered your own question with the results (being punched in the gut by Google) but you're just not accepting what your own trial showed.

Cutts and others from Google have said their bots look for "natural" site and link growth, which also means the red-flag what looks un-natural, such as a new site having thousands of pages right away, or thousands of backlinks right away.

The best advice anyone here can ever give you is to learn from your own results as you go. You tried a site with thousands of pages to start, and it got booted by Google. Learn from your experience and you'll be better off.

Autoblogging works great, but it's a snowball model. You have to start slow and let the autoblog build pages, backlinks and traffic over time like a snowball rolling downhill.

The upside though, is you can setup autoblogs quick and easy, so even though you need to start each one slow, you can start a bunch of them at the same time and still see some instant results by working in bulk.

On your questions about sub-domains and same IP's, from my experience having a bunch of sub-domain autoblogs will get you booted too, the search engines see this as a bad pattern and they notice it very easily. It's better to invest in some $2 .info domains than to use a bunch of sub-domains.

As for the IP's though, so long as you aren't cross-linking your autoblogs, that hasn't seemed to be a big deal in my experience, just because the search engines understand that shared hosting services mean thousands of different sites can be sitting on the same IP addresses, so as long as you don't link your autoblogs together you'll probably be okay to put a handful of autoblogs on the same hosting account. I try to keep it at or below 10 autoblogs per hosting account myself.

As for your question on sources, yeah you have the right idea and I definitely think it's worth it to do. Instead of using a large chunk of content from a single source, find 5 or more sources and grab just a small chunk of related content from each one. Look around and you can find ways to pull source feeds based on a keyword, so it's not too hard to grab targeted content from a bunch of sources for each posting and piece it all together.

SCB335, thanks for your answer again,
Is not that I dont want to learn from my experiences, but I dont want ,if I see one black swan, thinking my whole live: Swans are black.
I simply try to collect more information and experience to find the optimal way, not always to get "google depression" and do it the smartest effective way.
I am not that kind of person who always did listen to his Parents and Teachers saying. "Be honest and brave and live is easier" So even in the digital world I am searching for the special best and freaky way.
Thanks again for your detailed tips. But I am still wondering how the story would go, if Robin Hood never leaved the forest ..
(Maybe my english is awfull, could be its only bad . I am sorry for that)
