I'm looking to buy something that will help me out with my IM at least a bit, since I'll be on the go a lot during the summer. I need a phone which will support flash, run Skype and Facebook smoothly and allow me to check my e-mail and stuff decently fast. I just saw a review on Windows 8 mobile and I kinda like that, so would Lumia be a good option? As I said, I will be using this for Internet access a lot so a good battery is a big plus. And by the way, does Windows Mobile 8 allow you to use Remote Desktop and connect to a VPS or your home PC? I think it does, right?
Anyway, what would you recommend? No fanboys please :D

Google galaxy nexus 5 or any of the nexus lines. Basically get an android. Apple is absolutely shit for fast computer style marketing and it's not open source.

I actually just had a friend come over and she had a Nokia Lumia 920, so I think I'm gonna go with that - or maybe a newer Lumia. It's affordable and fast enough, plus the camera's real nice and with windows 8.1 everything looks really good. I'm not gonna play games on it, nor do I need the "fun" time-wasting apps they got for iOS and Android, so the fact that it's a Windows Mobile is only a plus. I can also use remote desktop on it smoothly, so I think it has everything I need.

I'm an Apple guy, having iPhone 5s (no no, I'm not showing off :D) I've bought many apps, for vps PocketCloud is what I use.

I bought the iPhone 5 last year, best phone I have ever used. Would recommend Apple products, they are built well and do the job.
