Hi Guys

I am intending on using blog commenting, social bookmarking and forum profiles to build backlinks to my web 2.0 properties, oh and a little bit of RSS submission, but mainly comments, bookmarks and profiles, but I was wondering roughly what percentage should I do for each? What sort of percentages do you think Google will think looks the most natural, any ideas?

Blog commenting ??? %
Social bookmarking ??? %
Forum profiles ??? %

1000 thanks.

Are you kidding? wtflulz. Just spam everything 'till your hearts content.

Hehe spam everything. waste of time.

targeted is so much better.

I base backlink building to the content development ratio to the website.

Blog commenting
Social bookmarking
Forum profiles

are pretty rubbish links would only use these to increase the authority of the pages where my valuable links are.

My percentages would be.

Blog commenting - 25%
Social bookmarking - 10%
Forum profiles - 15%
doc files - 5%
image - 5%
video - 15%
directory - 15%
pad - 5%
rss - 5%

Everybody is doing this methods.
If you want rank higher you need to come out with something new.
Forum profiles are first step to Google Hell. Few of them is ok, but G is not stupid...

High Authority backlinks - this is the way to rank higher.

Are you sure about that? How is it that Xrummer users swear black and blue about the product then....?

It's definitely possible that G's algorythm includes "discrediting" for sites that have too many links coming from vbulletin or expressionengine type pages, but from the trillions of sites out there (its definitely more than this, but I digress), it'll take a long time for G to figure out a spammer site just because it has too many links from forum pages.

I think as long as the build-up is steady (because a 30k Xrummer blast to a 1 day old site is DEFINITELY going to raise eyebrows), forum profiles are still good.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the input, I am happy to use profile backlinks for some of my backlinks but I don't really want to overdo them, I was probably thinking no more than 30%, I am sort of thinking that it might be best to have blog comment backlinks taking up the highest percentage, I was thinking something like this

Blog commenting 50%
Social bookmarking 20%
Forum profiles 30%

Oh and the rss will help to give a bit more diversity, I was going to use rssbot for that, the last submission I did successfully submitted to just over twenty sites, so depending on how many links I build to each property that will probably account for around 10% of backlinks or something like that, so it will probably be something like:

Blog commenting 46%
Social bookmarking 17%
Forum profiles 27%
Rss 10%

As already pointed out I totally appreciate these are fairly low quality backlinks, I mainly intend on using them to give my web 2.0 articles and blogs more authority, which I will then link either to each other (so some will have the odd link from other web 2.0 properties too) or back to my money site, thus funnelling all the link juice down, I will also use these techniques in moderation on my money site too just to give it a bit more link diversity. So my money site will have links from:

Article directories
Web 2.0 blogs
Blog commenting
Social bookmarking
Forum profiles
Rss
Directories (I will also give it a blast with directory bot)

Anyway that's kind of how I am thinking of doing it, but would love to hear if any of you more experienced SEO's think this plan can be improved. Hopefully the offering of this approach will be accepted by the God of SEO, little reference to my username there for those of you who have seen the wicker man.

Anyway thanks again

100% web 2.0 pages to your site
100% blog commenting / forum profiles to your web 2.0 pages.

Interesting, so you don't think I should make the backlink profile to my money site more varied than just web 2.0 articles and blogs, so no blog comments, bookmarks or profiles aimed at your money site, I see, thanks for that input I appreciate it, by the way I wasn't thinking of building many backlinks to my money site using the other methods no more than say 50 a month combined, does anybody else think that you should make the backlink profile to your money site more varied? Or are web 2.0 articles and blogs best just by themselves?

Oh by the way you say 100% blog commenting / forum profiles to your web 2.0 pages, is that 50/50 for each or some other kind of ratio?

By the way I totally appreciate that this is speculating on ratios that can't be proved for certain, but hey speculating on the things that can't be proved for certain is probably the majority of SEO chat anyhow.

Any way thanks again for the input.

The only site you should care about is your own!

Every other site/blog/article/link etc etc spam the f*** out of it! Who cares it isn't on your site and you can easily put up another one if it gets deleted, banned or whatever you white hatters think might happen!

It is not as easy to re-do a whole website compared to re-doing some content you put up on someone else's site so get spamming and stop caring.

Ah I see you are from Kazakstan, yekshemesh. Yes I suppose it's not that bad if you do lose the odd web 2.0 property, thanks for the input buddy, chin qui.

lewi is prob fucking around, i was actually born in kazakhstan :)

and about percentage, noone can really tell you exact percentages. You can take two identical sites and do identical shit to them and they would rank differently

No I doubt he is from Kazakhstan, probably just a fan of Mr Baron Cohen. Yeah I know percentages is getting into highly speculative territory as is a lot of SEO stuff, but it is very interesting to know what kind of ratios different people think works best.

Thanks to all who are contributing.

Personally I'd say in order of greatness with best being first:
* Blog commenting
* Articles
* Forums
* Press Releases
* Social bookmarking
* Directories
* RSS

It is interesting the different methods different SEO?s prefer, sorry if the question I started this thread with was a bit unclear, the main thing I am wondering is what sort of ratios/percentages people think will look the most natural to Google, the objective been trying to create as natural looking a link profile as possible and thus avoiding the kind of penalties associated with less natural looking backlink profiles, that?s why I am particularly interested in what approximate percentages of these methods people think will best achieve that, but I am grateful for any input even if it?s just what methods you like.

Thanks again

It seems that a blogspot blog (1 page, 10 words, clickbank hoplink in it) ranks 2nd on google for xxxxx (5 letters, 2.500.000 competition) with 850 profile links and forum threads. all spammed to death.

So yea, profile links apparently still work! Google should be ashamed of this.

Yeah I think profile backlinks still have some effect based on what I have been reading, many people are still saying they work, as part of a balanced diet of course. Out of bookmarks, profiles and blog comments which do you think are the most spammy and which do you think are the least?

Thanks
