Am setting up an e-commerce site and want to take payments by credit card, i dont want to open a merchant account yet, maybe if it becomes successful, but want to use a payment gateway.
I dont want to use PAYPAL as i have had very bad experiences with them.
What do you recommend as the best alternative?..I am looking at Moneybookers and they seem the best so far.
    Any advice most appreciated.

Not many people use moneybookers so you will lose 20 to 50% sales or even more.

2checkout is good...their customer support is not that good but everything else is good.

To anyone who knows.... How much does it cost to set up your own merchant account? I think this option would be beneficial for long term players

I think plimus deducts 10% fee and 2checkout around 5.5%+0.50 from every transaction so the difference is substantial
