When I look at other affiliate sites such as h**ps://www.mypetneedsthat.com/best-dog-leashes/I see that on their articles they include a lot of product recommendations for the topic. For example in the article they talk about 15 dog leashes. Now I can't seem to understand why they do this. If i am a buyer i don't want to know what the best 15 dog leashes are i would want to know the best leashes in the cheap midrange and expensive categories how am I supposed to select the best out of fifteen! The only reason i can think to do this is so it gives the buyer more variety to pick from so if they already had their minds made up from searching on amazon they will click on the affiliate link and purchase. Anyone got a better idea than i do?

Depends if I have many long tails to include in the article. If not usually 3-5 products.

I'm not a fan of these sites that have heaps of products, it's not useful for the viewers.

That's exactly what I thought how are you "recommending" a product when you have 15 options to choose from

I meant it is up to you to decide, at the end of the day, that guy probably feel like he wants his article to be as long as possible.
Sometimes I stumbled upon an article that ranked 30 products and I feel disgusted.

I would say no more than 5 tops.

3 seems like the best option.
