I have a site which is starting to get tons of traffic and it is community based. I need to capture emails somehow without users having to confirm subscriptions as the visitors are mainly coming for one thing - entertainment and I don't want to chance increasing bounce rates. I use currently use Aweber for my list building but in this case they wont do. I have heard of getresponse and know that they do not require any optins but I have heard TERRIBLE things about them in the past. Does anyone have any experience in this field with other companies? I need something reliable. If anyone is/has used getresponse and their opinion of them is different from what I have heard I am definitely keen on hearing your experiences as well. Thanks..

I think both of them requires double optin. Maybe you can just install script for list building like interspire or infinite responder.

If you are trying to import your leads, that will be an issue with some companies. Try MailChimp or Vertical Response to get around this with lists below 20k.

If you are looking for something to feed leads into, either of those should work. Have it send an auto-responder as soon as they submit their email. That way, when it is time for you to mail them, you are not receiving a lot of bounces.

I ended up going with getresponse and I can tell you that I the hooplah I heard about them has been totally false!

Nice clean UI , well documented api , great social media features , and a cheaper price.

I am seriously considering migrating all of my lists there...

GR is very good indeed and much cheaper than aweber but aweber hits inbox much better but requires only double optin
